'Grandma' thrown off cliff by Paul Ryan lookalike in anti-GOP Medicare ad made by The Agenda Project

A liberal group is taking heat after releasing a political ad this week that shows a man resembling Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) shoving a wheelchair-bound senior citizen off a cliff.

The piece, made by The Agenda Project, is supposed to depict what Ryan's Medicare proposal would do to seniors.

In the ad, set to the tune of "America the Beautiful," a man in a suit is seen pushing a smiling, elderly woman through the wilderness.

"In 1965, Americans made Medicare into law," the ad says, noting that Medicare provides health insurance for 46 million Americans -- more than half of whom live on less than $28,000 a year.

"Now, Republicans want to privatize Medicare," it adds, as the man wheels the woman past a sign and up a hill that reads "Do not go beyond this barricade." He then dumps the frightened woman over the cliff.

1. Why do Republicons HATE grandmothers and grandfathers?
What about "Honor thy mother and father" don't they get?

Or are they driving the Republicon HATE bus through a loophole because these mothers and fathers are 'grand" ?

I don't get Republicon HATE for America's elders...just don't get it.

3. The Ad is Spot On
Of course the Tee Vee will refuse to run it, and demand that we apologize for even creating such an ad,
because that is what they do.

6. If we proposed this bill, we'd deserve the ad.
BTW, I love it!

7. First of all...

we'd never propose that bill and, secondly, negative ads can easily backfire.

In a pure sense, I love the ad because I'm a Democrat. But, the ad isn't aimed at me. It's aimed at independents and GOP voters who are disaffected by GOP efforts to undercut SS/Medicare. Does anyone really think the GOP wants to push elderly women off a cliff? We have a golden opportunity to capitalize on GOP overreaching, but not by adopting Rove/Atwater tactics.

10. The ad is sick and full of hate.
I can't stand when Democrats complain about the 'hate' speech of Republicans then turn around and
end up being worse than Republicans. Makes me sick.

11. do you deny that killing Medicare will have the exact same effect??
sure, the old woman would probably die in an emergency room or on the way to one,
but the root cause will be because her Medicare was taken away.

What Ryan and crew are attempting is no less vicious than pushing a woman off a cliff.
