Obama is +2 today in the Gallup tracking number. He is at 50%, and in that he had fallen to as low as 46% earlier this week, this new rise to 50% is not directly Bin Laden related.
Instead of gloom and doom all the time, lets look at facts.
The unemployment rate is around 9%. Gas is $4.00 per gallon. Yet today Gallup has Obama at a 50% approval rating. And FOX (of all people) have him at 55%.
Wow!
The base support for the President is VERY STRONG. Barrack Obama has NEVER BEEN below 41% in regard to his approval rating at Gallup. That is amazing. Since 1980, every President (Yes, including Reagan) at some point in their Presidency had an approval rating in the 30s. But not Obama.
if the President is always around 50%, seemingly regardless of what is going on in the country, what happens when the economy improves? What happens when gas prices come down?
No wonder the GOP field is running scared and nobody legit will challenge him.
And for pundits who make the comparison to 1992, in regard to Bush having high approval ratings only to lose to a no-name Arkansas Governor named Bill Clinton, the comparison makes no sense! Bush Sr.'s high approval ratings were because of the first Iraqi war. That was it! War always gives the sitting President artificially high numbers. Once the war was over, the bump went down. Bush went down. And Clinton became President.
In this case, there is no artificial world event to bump President Obama. In fact his numbers are actually extraordinary consistent (44-52%) despite the bad economy or any World event during his Presidency.
This is why so many GOP contenders don't want to face him.
They know the truth.
Obama is at 50% again in the Gallup tracking poll. I just thought I would pass that along.
