I think I'm picking up the meme on GWB and credit for the Osama takedown.
Someone said that Obama should be commended for continuing the policies of the previous administration in taking down bin Laden.

Okay. First, GWB didn't continue the policies of the previous Administration which is why 9/11 happened in the first place. He not only demoted Richard Clark, National Security Chief to four presidential Administrations, but he delegated National Security to Cheney and Condi Rice who stopped shaking the trees and listening to the chatter. And then, in 2003, Bush gave up on the chase on bin Laden and went on a sidetrack to Iraq.

So Obama refocused on bin Laden. He should be commended for resurrecting the matter and making it a priority.

1. Obama should absolutely give credit to former President
Bill Clinton after resurrecting his policy to focus on capturing or killing Osama bin Laden.

2. I think it was a group effort
and trying to give Bush all the credit or Obama all the credit only divides the already divided. The credit really belongs to Navy Seals who had the balls to endure 22 months of training that means some of them probably worked for Bush as well as Obama.

I'm beginning to understand the power of the man behind the tiller.

You don't "luck" into these kind of situations. I think I've lived long enough to recognize that.

Which makes it all the more incomprehensible that we continue to give CEOs incredible bonuses for such failures.

4. Obama did NOT continue Bush policies. Bush gave up.
Obama started a new policy making OBL a priority. And Obama got OBL using STANDARD Intelligence procedures, NOT "enhanced interrogation".
