One thing not mentioned here (or by the media)...

And I hesitate to even bring it up because the idea is just too horrific to even comprehend.

But - We'll never known the names of the Navy Seals who ultimately performed this operation. Their names aren't ever going to be released because of the highly classified nature of their mission and stature, however, also because doing so puts their lives - and the lives of their family - at risk.

Since Pres. Obama is the Commander in Chief and ultimately signed off on this operation, it's not hard to imagine that he will now will become a target of terrorists looking to enact revenge for the killing of bin Laden. Now obviously this is something Pres. Obama knew was a possibility and still continued with the decision, but it seems we're so quick to dismiss the possibility that retaliation might come in the way of an assassination attempt.

As Pres. Obama plans to embark on a three-day trip to England later this month, I am concerned for his safety. I feel confident in the Secret Service and certainly British intelligence - but he could be a target.

Security plans to protect U.S. President Barack Obama during his first visit to London have been stepped up in the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden.
The terror chief's assassination by American special forces at the weekend has raised fears that Mr Obama could be targeted in a revenge attack by extremists in London.

More reason why downplaying Pres. Obama's decision is grossly tactless.

I know many here aren't the praying type - but I do pray for the President's safety.

1. I'm not a 'praying type' and try not to be a worrier
because worrying about what may or may not happen, in general, is such a waste of psychic energy. But I worry about our president every single day, to the point that I say/think 'the word that shall not be spoken' instead of the "A" word. Ironically, the right wing spin that this accomplishment can be solely attributed to the prior administration claims all the glory with none of the risk associated with it, both in the political and security aspects.

2. It will happen, it just won't happen any time soon. The soldiers that captured
Sadam were interviewed on television and have appeared in several documentaries. We'll have to wait until they leave military, but it will eventually happen. Give it about five to ten years.

4. Yes, but there are probably a lot of home-grown freaks who are just as dangerous.
President Obama and his family are constantly in my thoughts and prayers.

6. It's his official state visit to London...
But you're right, it's not his official visit.

7. I pray for his safety as well. Not necessary because of terrorists, but
more because of our own home-grown lunatics.
