Poll question: for once I miss Bush: He would have hung bin Laden's body on the White House porch like a fish
Should Obama release photos of bin Laden's body to confirm his death to the public?

1. I have idea. If he doesn't they'll say he lied. If he does, they'll say it's fake.

2. Yes, I think they have to release something.
They can't expect the whole world to simply take their word for it.

4. There are videos and pictures. Obama saw the video of the raid.
So there's enough evidence I'm sure to clear our minds. But respect must be maintained even if he had none for us.

5. I know evidence exists. But just saying we have the evidence will not
be enough. The Muslim street, the Repubs, the world at large will want proof.

6. Nope. I do NOT miss bush. This latest development only reminds me of how much.
I do NOT miss bush. I'm glad he's gone. He wouldn't have done it like this since it certainly wasn't his style, and hell, it's not as though he didn't have opportunities (Tora Bora anyone?). I DO NOT miss bush. And I give him NO credit for this.

9. Photos of the corpse would only provide more ammunition to terrorists
Has everyone forgot what happened after the execution of Saddam Hussein? Do you really want to see what happens if extremists have photos of the "desecrated" corpse of bin Laden?

11. I don't think that many people give a shit about him, and the Pew poll seems to support that LINK:

13. Not necessarily because it's bin Laden
It would be the West desecrating and mistreating the corpse of a Muslim rather than bin Laden specifically.

I could be wrong, of course, but I think it's better for the White House to err on the side of caution.

14. erring on the side of caution is probably wise, and it shows a desire to decrease terrorism
rather than making the right domestic PR move that make things worse overseas.
