I agree. She's toxic. The CNN poll shows only 28% believe she's qualified to be president.
According to the poll, 28 percent of Americans say Palin is qualified to run the White House, with seven in 10 saying the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is not qualified.

The survey indicates that a majority of Republicans, 54 percent, feel Palin is qualified, with 44 percent indicating she isn't. But only 29 percent of independent voters questioned feel she is qualified to serve as president, with 68 percent disagreeing. According to the poll, nine in 10 Democrats feel Palin is not qualified.

35. That damned 28% again
About the same percentage that thought GWB was doing a great job when he left office. The same 28% of Americans who are some of the dumbest motherfuckers in this country. It is disturbing that almost 3 out of every 10 Americans are this stupid, however. Maybe Darwinism will cull the herd!!

Has he expressed any interest in running for president in 2012, or is it merely the rantings of some fringe lefties on the Internet?

What would happen to this "movement" if he decided to endorse Obama's re-election?

16. I actually think there's a 50/50 chance she DOESN'T run
I think she's trying to milk her 15 minutes of fame right now. Maybe she hasn't made a decision firmly yet, but someone will persuade her not to run in 2012. She would cause a bigger rift in the base of the party and dominate the MSM's attention. There will be many in the GOP who won't want her to run and will try to make sure that doesn't happen. So no, I don't think she will. UNLESS, by 2012, the GOP is still being told what to do and how to think by Rush and Beck and still don't have a smart plan formed through critical thinking. If thats the case, they may not have the pull to tell her what to do...which would be more of a sign of the GOP's waning power.

17. It looks to me as if she craves the celebrity and dazzle of national
fame and has chosen politics as her path to that goal.

As I examine the steaming entrails of the sacrificial beast it appears that Ex-Governor Palin will compete in the Iowa primary but will not win that contest and, hearing her handlers tell her that she will be trounced in New Hampshire, will invoke the Going Rogue option (likely planned all along) and declare herself an independent, third-party candidate.

This sustains her celebrity, activates nutbag donors, and dims the next day's political headlines from Des Moines for whoever does win in Iowa, likely Huckabee.

24. Actually that might be the one scenario in which I'd believe the Mayan calendar hype.
Picture this..... another "close election", courtesy of ES&S Inc. Florida 2000, the sequel (though not necessarily in that state)Battle draws out even longer than the last time..... Supreme Court waits until the last possible second to decide (probably 12/18)to give the appearance of "impartiality" but in the end it's a 5/4 decision for Moosealini, courtesy of the usual Bush Crime Family appointed suspects.

After 3 days of Celestial deliberations, God overturns the Roberts Court, says "Fuck this" and pulls the plug on the planet on December 21 :nuke:

Without a REAL Health care solution (so far I'm not seeing one) and a true economic recovery (not for billionaires and thieves on Wall Street) there will not be a massive turnout for Obama in 2012 like there was in 2008.

The Repukes will stop at nothing to steal it, and as we saw in 2000 and 2004, having a completely unqualified imbecile on their ticket is no guarantee that they will lose. Especially when no TRUE count of the votes exists.

The big money in the GOP--the business boys--do not care for her. They don't trust her populism, her having gone after oil interests in Alaska--and that state's public ownership of energy resources sets their teeth on edge. Her resignation from the governorship tars her as a flake and a quitter even with a number of the more hardbitten conservatives. Plus, her score settling in Going Rogue will serve to burn even more of her bridges in the GOP.

There is utterly no way she will run in 2012. She'll have made her money at the expense of making lots of new enemies.

In the complete unlikelihood that she runs in 2012, she wouldn't make it past the first three primary races and would probably get 10% in Iowa.

41. I really don't know....
I really think that there's little to no chance of her ever winning the Presidency, but then something like her comments on her support for expanding Israeli settlements comes along and just scares the hell out of me:

I disagree with the Obama administration on that,” Palin said. “I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon, because that population of Israel is, is going to grow. More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead. And I don’t think that the Obama administration has any right to tell Israel that the Jewish settlements cannot expand.

Not sure that I want someone who would apparently base U.S. foreign policy on his or her vision of the "End Times" anywhere close to becoming President.

Yes, she's compelling in a train wreck kind of way. Don't want to watch but can't quite turn away. She's really good for those of us who are sane and have some actual grasp on how government works and what needs to happen to make government work because she's the poster child for what not to do.

But really. I don't care what party you belong to but do we really need this idiot in our body politic? Everytime I see her or Glenn Beck I think of the movie "Idiocracy." Yeah, it was funny but do we really want to go there? Are we really that stupid?

No I don't want her around in 2012. Hopefully, she'll make her millions and disappear into the Alaskan wilderness, never to be heard from again. If the Republican Party is insane enough to hang its hopes on that lunatic then I have serious concerns for the future of out 2 party system.

Sarah and Jeb. It would be Reagan/Bush Redux only even worse than Bush/Cheney. There is a long history of spokespeople as President with the Bush family memebers or cronies actually pulling the puppet strings at VP. The American people have short memories and vote on bullshit and not substance. It could happen.

Because then President Obama would have to go beneath himself to debate her.

I'm snooty and stuck up about that. President Obama is BETTER than her, though he is too much of a gentleman to ever admit it. It was bad enough that VP Biden had to debate her when he was a Senator on the ticket.

She's simply not 'good enough' to stand at a podium and debate (try to) President Obama.

It's as if people don't remember how many votes her ticket received in 2008 - AFTER the Charles Gibson and Katie Couric interviews.

It didn't matter.

And if anyone thinks the MSM won't give her as much of a leg up as they possibly can, they'll be deluded. Book tour coverage, anyone?

She doesn't need an extra minute of media exposure. People here might think she's a joke, but too many are pinning their cracked hopes on someone like her.

55. Hope? Not really.
Will she try? Probably
Will she succeed? Nah. But after the failure (which will become evident fairly early in the primary process) she'll regroup and run third party.

57. I am too paranoid about stolen elections to want to take the chance
George W Bush defiled the office of the Presidency for eight torturous years, after all.

She scares the hell out of me.

58. YOU BETCHA! She will take maybe 12% of the vote, the rest of the right
will be split. We will win big again.

Actually, I think the GOP could run Jesus and lose in 2012. They are poisoning their own well.

60. She really does seem like a complete mess. At the same time she
rallies the nutbags, flushing them from the woods so the whole country can see what the Republican Party has come to.

If she succeeds politically the GOP will fail for her success.

69. No. She's too dangerous, and the bigger the stage she's given the worse it will be...
... for the country as a whole. She's a demagogue who gleefully incites violence against the President. She can't win the presidency, but she could help get Obama assassinated.

71. I really don't think it makes sense to noodle over who the GOP nominee will be.
I'm probably being a prick to say that, but I believe in sticking to what I'm good at. What is worthwhile is to try and move the country, and even the GOP and its 2012 nominee (whoever it will be), in a more humane--i.e. leftish--direction by putting the US on course for social democracy with a good hcr bill, and a decent version of EFCA.

72. Sarah "Quitter" Palin is the gift that keeps on giving!
She only appeals to freeper becky lover racists anyway. Thank God they are a tiny minority that can never win a nationwide election.

Let the liar Palin bring it! Her and Becky, Limpballs, Handjob, Sen Boner and the rest of the nazi republicans will crash and burn!
