5. As a Florida voter
I need to ask you if you really think its appropriate to deliver an "I Told You So" message, supposedly from Obama, here on DU?

What are you trying to accomplish here?

8. As someone suffering through Christie
Florida doesn't get a pass: "electing a right-wing criminal to be Florida's governor probably wasn't such a good idea"

A majority of NJ voters believed Christie's BS, and now the rest of us have to live with it.

12. I'm not asking for "Florida" to get a pass
I'm asking that DUers from Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin get a pass. Do you think we need some sanctimonious scolding on behalf of the states in which we live? Do you think that DUers from these states DON'T know what kind of fucking trouble we're all in?

13. " Do you think we need some sanctimonious scolding "
No one is scolding you. Did you vote for Scott?

Calling out people for voting Republican is not new, unsual, insensitive or otherwise. It happens all the time. People should be held accountable for their votes.

16. " No one is scolding you."
read the OP:

Dear voters in Wisconsin, Florida and Ohio: He told you not to give them the car keys back. You didn't listen.

I am a voter in Florida, reading DU, so yes, I am included as part of the targeted audience.

18. Oh come on.
People say the same thing about voters in NJ and elsewhere. The OP clearly implies that the voters referred to are those who voted Republican.

No one is bashing the state. Do you think protesting Walker is bashing the state?

Do you think all the negative headlines about what's happening in Wisconsin is bashing the state?

When people referred to Bush voters as "sheeple" were they bashing the US?

Indiana Secretary Of State Indicted On Voter Fraud Charges

Secretary of State Charlie White, the top election official in Indianapolis, is facing seven felony counts, including voter fraud, perjury and theft, all connected to what a prosecutor said was an attempt to hold on to his seat on the town council even though he was living outside of his designated district.

White was indicted by a grand jury in Hamilton County on three counts of voter fraud for allegedly lying about his address when he voted in last year's Republican primary, the Courier-Journal head|reports. In addition he's facing charges of perjury, fraud on a financial institution (for lying about his address) and theft for keeping the salary he received as a member of his town council after he moved out of his designated district.

Madison Firefighters Denied Access To Capitol During Emergency

It's generally speaking a bad idea to attract press for preventing firefighters from rescuing police officers during an emergency call. But that's about where we are in Madison now.

Check out this report from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

Dave Trainor, a Madison firefighter, said he was part of a crew dispatched to the Capitol on a call that someone was trapped in an elevator. Firefighters were denied access at one of the building's entrances that is being guarded by police....

As it turned out, a police officer was trapped in an elevator. But at the time of the call, firefighters did not know if there was a medical emergency, Trainor said.

"We lost crucial time on a call we didn't know anything about," he said.

Read the whole report. It turns out the firefighters were turned away by other police officers who were blocking an entrance to the Capitol. Fortunately everyone was ok.

19. But I was told on DU that there's no difference. I guess we're seeing "the difference".
Voter apathy was actually being cheered right here on this board. I can't believe some unions even voted for the jerk in WIS.

21. The difference is VERY real. The effort to claim it is not is an effort to supress voters.
