Need some help debunking a RW meme RE: HCR
Can't seem to find anything definitive myself, but I wanna put this RW idiot in his place.
He claims your 401(k) can be taken under the PPACA.
Has anyone here heard of this idiocy, and where do I point him to rub his nose in fact?

1. He made the claim--make him provide the proof.
Demand that he either link to the section of HCR which allows that, or retract and apologize.

Exactly. Right-wingers are not used to having their *belief* system challenged nor engaging in any critical thinking (the corporate news media doesn't ever question them, so they're used to being able to say whatever they want without being challenged). Making them have to search for proof and facts instead of merely being allowed to regurgitate out the latest hate radio talking points might actually be a positive growth-inducing experience for them.

3. Ask him specifically which sections and which line numbers ...
and the debate will be over.

Your friend, who has never read the Senate bill, or the related House amendment, will have to go back into right wing crazy land and ask his other right wing pals where this terrible thing occurs. In most cases, they can't produce anything other than a statement from Limbaugh or Malkin, or some other nut. But no section number or line numbers.

Occasionally, the will return with a section #. The sections of the document aren't that tough to read. If your friend comes back with a section # (probably a section they've never actually read). You can read just that. You won't find anything. So you go back to them and again ask which specific line numbers of that section they are referring to.

At this point they usually start to slobber and scream "Obama is a socialist, commie, fascist!!!!"
