Hackers Vs. Billionaires: Anonymous Takes Down Koch-Supported Websites

The hacker collective Anonymous may have just made its highest net-worth enemies yet. In the midst of the weekend’s protests in support of Wisconsin’s public employees, the group declared war on the billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch, taking down two Koch-backed sites with cyberattacks and calling for a boycott on companies in which the brothers have invested.

On Sunday night, both the website of Koch-backed antiregulatory group Americans For Prosperity and a community forum site for Koch-backed toilet paper company Northern Quilt were down (at least every time I checked) for more than five hours under cyberattacks from Anonymous.

“It has come to our attention that the brothers, David and Charles Koch–the billionaire owners of Koch Industries–have long attempted to usurp American Democracy,” reads the statement. “Their actions to undermine the legitimate political process in Wisconsin are the final straw. Starting today we fight back.” The statement goes on to accuse the brothers of creating fake grassroots groups to oppose the unions in order to cheaply gain a monopoly on Wisconsin’s power utilities.

No longer will we tolerate his incessant conspiracy theories intended only to incite hate and violence in the uneducated. Take heed Glenn Beck, if you do not immediately cease and desist your hate and fear mongering your broadcasts, websites and advertisers are in jeopardy. You must immediately broadcast a full appology to all the people you have attacked and offended. You must immediately end your hate rhetoric and fear mongering and use your position of power only to promote unity and peaceful resolutions from henceforth. The choice is yours.

People of America you can help Glenn Beck to see the error of his ways by refusing to acknowledge his broadcasts and boycotting his adverisers, websites and books in a very public manner.



Anonymous is an advoate of freedom of speech, but with that freedom comes great responsibility especially for those in a position of power like Glenn Beck that can use their speech to incite hate and violence. Therefore, we will no longer tolerate his incivility, lack of restraint and moralfaggetry.

4. Its the language of anonymous

It has nothing to do with homosexuality. The word 'fag' has become a generalized insult in the anonymous community. I think that part of the idea is that if you overuse the insult, it becomes irrelevant, and that's kind of what's happened there.

5. yeah, that's good and all but they really need to is get into Koch's internals

...their financial, their holdings, bank accounts (corporate and personal), etc,....then give all the info to Wikileaks just before deleting it ALL - including backups.......foreclose their houses, repossess their cars.... wipe out everything that makes them 'Koch Bros'.....leave them with the clothes on their backs...and nothing else.

Good on them. I believe in freedom of speech, but the Koch's are trying to disrupt that and other American Freedoms and deserve to be attacked. Let's hope the Anonymous group remains anonymous or they'll find themselves Assanged(character assassinated) inside a week.
