After the fact, of course.

I remember when the economy came roaring back in Clintons second term, they trotted out that asshat J.D. Hayworth to announce that the rebound was the product of the do nothing GOP congress.

Which RW Knucklehead will they trot out this time?

1. Of course - they have already been talking about booosh'es wonder.
They are just keeping a little quiet until they see who takes over just in case it backfires. I think there is a long list of contributing factors. The unrest caused by our wars in the ME, 30 years of misery, announcement that mubarak's son would continue the misery, the suicidal human torches who died in protest of conditions in the ME, President Obama's speech to the ME, and finally Tunisia's protests.

2. Why not?
Some people around here are already trying to give Obama credit for it.

3. Depends on how they turn out. If well, yes. If badly it will be "Obama lost Egypt."
As to who will be trotted out, I would guess Newtie.

4. I've seen several articles along the lines of "Bush was right to invade Iraq", like that started
the current revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, etc., (rather than the exact opposite being the case) so I think the repubs are already out there trying to take credit for what is happening.

5. If it ends up with a Muslim government, they will blame Obama
and tie him to Carter and Iran.

If it ends up a democracy, they will give credit to Bush for invading Iraq, which "taught them a lesson" about what type of government a country should have.

6. If they end up with Corpo-Fascist regimes they will, if not, not-so-much.
So no, they will blame Obama for giving freedom to peasants, the worst atrocity one can commit as far as the GOP is concerned.

7. Why should anybody get the credit/blame????
Edited on Thu Feb-03-11 05:39 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
What is going on over in Egypt is largely (mostly) out of our control or influence, isn't it? All President Obama is really able to do is comment on what's going on over there and maybe make some suggestions but, aside from us sending troops over to military intervene in the situation (which, thankfully, won't be happening AFAIK), what more would he be able to do to affect the outcome?

P.S. Did people actually blame Carter for "losing" Iran back during their revolution?
:wtf:

8. Since they are already blaming Obama for losing them
and saying they are all going to become a huge Caliphate (Dreck, Graftney, et al) it will be a bit difficult to walk back and take credit.

9. That roaring economy got Clinton reelected.
Of course, it helped that his opponent was Bob "Bob Dole Wants Out, LaRouche Won't Stop Telling Knock Knock Jokes" Dole.

10. I bet the GOP tries to credit Bush and the Iraq invasion
...for what is happening now in the middle east. It's soooooooooo predictable.
