Did anyone see CNN preview Barbara Walters asking Palin about foreign affairs?
All I have to say is wow.

Oh, and she gave Obama a 4out of 10. I suppose that's not bad considering. Her explanation if Israeli settlements is must see tv.

1. It's amazing isn't it?
She has had since November to simply read international publications to find out what's going on in the world and she is too lazy to do it!!

10. "Read international publications"
She has to be able to do more then just "READ" International Publications... she also has to be able to understand them, realize what their impact on the global economy & international community would be, and then figure out how to respond in the best interest of the United States.

She can't get past the first step (read)... let alone the next 3.

23. You don't need to be a Harvard grad to understand history.
But you do need to have an intellectual curiousity and then follow up with some heavy, heavy reading.

This woman doesn't have the propensity for either. She is a spokesmodel for trite, RW talking points and will never have the inspiration or discipline to actually learn anything of substance.

Like someone said upthread, she's had the time since quitting to sit down with books, articles and experts and discuss policy issues of the day to be ready for questions in the future. She has not. She never will.

7. I was a long sarah palin type of answer. Basicaly she's for settlements. I don't think she knows
what they are, but she's for them. And she'd do what ever McCrystal wants to do in Afghanistan.

13. "The Odd Lies of sarah palin" by Andrew Sullivan..
<snip>

"After you have read these, ask yourself: what wouldn't Sarah Palin lie about if she felt she had to?

Palin lied when she said the dismissal of her public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, had nothing to do with his refusal to fire state trooper Mike Wooten; in fact, the Branchflower Report concluded that she repeatedly abused her power when dealing with both men.

Palin lied when she repeatedly claimed to have said, "Thanks, but no thanks" to the Bridge to Nowhere; in fact, she openly campaigned for the federal project when running for governor.

Palin lied when she denied that Wasilla's police chief and librarian had been fired; in fact, both were given letters of termination the previous day.

Palin lied when she wrote in the NYT that a comprehensive review by Alaska wildlife officials showed that polar bears were not endangered; in fact, email correspondence between those scientists showed the opposite.

Palin lied when she claimed in her convention speech that an oil gas pipeline "began" under her guidance; in fact, the pipeline was years from breaking ground, if at all.

Palin lied when she told Charlie Gibson that she does not pass judgment on gay people; in fact, she opposes all rights between gay spouses and belongs to a church that promotes conversion therapy.

Palin lied when she denied having said that humans do not contribute to climate change; in fact, she had previously proclaimed that human activity was not to blame.

Palin lied when she claimed that Alaska produces 20 percent of the country's domestic energy supply; in fact, the actual figures, based on any interpretation of her words, are much, much lower.

Palin lied when she told voters she improvised her convention speech when her teleprompter stopped working properly; in fact, all reports showed that the machine had functioned perfectly and that her speech had closely followed the script."

16. Sullivan should write a book
... it will take that to list all her lies.

The book should be called: "Sarah Palin - Going, going, gone".

18. I saw that...really really bad!
And all she had to say about Afghanistan was "...president should stop dithering! Give his generals the troops! Stop dithering!" It's ok, Palin, we know that you heard the word dithering for the first time last month. She is such a lightweight, it's hilarious.

20. I got into a "debate" with a Palin cult member
yesterday. I asked this person to defend their support of Sarah by stating 3 policies that Palin had implemented that supported her supposed current policy stances. They responded by giving me two things that they (and Sarah) think Obama is wrong about and the third item was "she's for smaller government and I am too!"

I told this person that criticism of policy is NOT policy, nor were bumper sticker slogans. Palin actually grew government in AK, took the most pork per capita, and ran a socialist type program where she taxes the oil companies and gave the money back to the people. She's no fiscal conservative. In fact, I have no idea what she really stands for or how she made governing decisions.

Of course, this person never got back to me with specifics of policies she had implemented which supported her slogans.

Because they can't. She was hated by the Republicans in her own state long before she was "tapped" for VP candidate.

It's so stupid and mind-blowing; it really indicates the SAD state of our media and the R party that she was EVER even chosen to run for office. This should be the issue...

but of course, they're never going to explore just how badly they've let us down: WMD and Palin = EPIC FAIL FOR MSM.

22. I saw it. What's truly shocking is that she STILL hasn't bothered to
educate herself about these matters.

It's as though she's proud of her lack of knowledge.

How anyone, even a wingnut, can rally behind stone-cold stupidity, is beyond me.

Edited on Wed Nov-18-09 11:59 AM by LibDemAlways
Israel "in the next weeks and months" and basically needing a place to live. So she's for "expansion."

It is so painfully obvious that she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. I would be willing to bet she couldn't find Israel on a map and is completely clueless as to how the Palestinians fit into the picture. Barbara Walters could have eviscerated her, but like a good little corporate toady she just let it go.
