The fight is not over. Even after Obama signs the bill into law next week, he and the two military dudes have to certify it. And they'll only certify it after seeing that it won't cause problems on the battlefield. The question I have, is how are they going to test this? Are they going to ask for a handful of gay volunteers to be "open" and see what happens to them? Human guinea pigs, maybe?
So as exciting as today is, let's not get overly excited about it quite yet. Maybe, as a gay individual, I've spent too much time getting the rug pulled out from under me when it comes to political promises that causes my reticence and I hope I'm being overly cautious but the fight's not over quite yet.
That said, thanks for all the good cheer and hard work everyone put into this.
