Poll question: Does caving to hostage-takers make it easier to negotiate with them next time?
Or does it set you up for failure in future negotiations?

This seems so obvious to me, but apparently DUers are of two minds on this. Just curious...

13. The quality of debate here has become so lowlifed,
Even the push polls have a sewer smell to them.

16. Yes. It IS a set up for FAILURE...
AND, the Democratic Party Leadership KNOWS this,
but it just doesn't play as well in the Kabuki Theater.

"Its ALL Joe Lieberman's Fault"

"Can't let the Perfect be the enemy of the good."

"This is HISTORIC."

"This is a step forward."

"We courageously stood up against the Corporations."

"We had to pass something."

"This is a WIN for the White House!!!!"

All the above make for much better Kabuki than the TRUTH.

17. Republicans are enemy number one
We should be thumbing our noses at them just like Bush did to us for 8 horrific years.
