Age of innocence died right there
His dark hair has long since turned white. The years have accentuated his features, and sunken eyes surrounded by deep, dark circles betray a life-long anguish.

But after 47 years, former Secret Service agent Clint Hill says he has become convinced that he could not have prevented President John F. Kennedy's assassination in Dallas.

A dozen years after Kennedy was killed, Hill expressed his guilt in a brutal, emotional 1975 interview with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes for not climbing aboard the president's limousine more quickly to shield him from the fatal shot.

``Had I turned in a different direction, I'd have made it,'' said Hill, who had just retired for health reasons at age 43. ``It's my fault. . . . And I'll live with that to my grave.''

1. From the Miami Hurled no less.
Edited on Mon Nov-22-10 11:02 AM by Mika
Today the nation mourns in remembrance.

Today, in Miami, Miamicubano RW exiles celebrate at the Versailles, where today they have a JFK 2 shots for 1 Colada special. (I kid you not!)

:puke:

8. The day Code Pink showed up to protest the US's protection of mass murdering bomber, "exile"
Luis Posada Carriles, they chased their float far down the street, tearing at their signs and decorations, shouting themselves hoarse, waving their arms. The usual!

Code Pinkers have a lot of determination, and character, showing up among the Posada supporters to protest his murder of all those helpless people, including children, including the entire Cuban fencing team while they were aboard a Cubana airliner in flight.

How courageous of the 2 bombers go get on board, place their bomb in the bathroom and get off at a stop before they had set the bomb to detonate. There were even medical students on board returning to their homes in Guyana, or so they thought.

First in flight airline bombing in history.

I hope they choke frequently on their JFK 2fer shots, Mika. A-holes!

10. Note the cop in the bottom Code Pink pic.
Just standing by watching some libruls getting assaulted.

The bureaucrat working for Miami permitting dept who granted the Code Pink permit was fired. Obviously, a Castro lover. :eyes:

The same assholes involved in the Code Pink assault were marching with Gloria Estefan in solidarity w/the Cuban "Ladies in White", who protest march weekly in Cuba without permits. Go figure!

4. If only it had kept raining history might have been a lot different.
A light rain was falling that morning. If the rain had continued the bubble top would have been up on the limo and increased the possibility of a deflection of the bullets. Also much of the public mistakenly believed that the bubble top was bullet proof so the gunman may not have even attempted a shot in the first place.

11. I forgot the sarcasm thingy.
Actually it is profound he is a valuable witness to debunk the magic bullet theory.

12. Well, true. I'm glad he's alive. But the magic bullet theory was long ago totally debunked.
And there is a new book out now that puts it to rest forever, says what happened, who did it and why.

"JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died And Why It Matters," by James Douglass. A totally convincing book and one that deals with the spiritual dimension of the "Cold War" as well, which is the key to this story. No other writer has brought such vast scholarship/research and depth of understanding to that event.

16. The "magic bullet theory" never existed in the first place.
It was a strawman cooked up to make it seem like it was impossible for there to be one gunman.

Actual scientific studies of the footage and positioning of the men have shown that the wounds sustained were completely consistent with one bullet striking both Kennedy and Connolly.

13. Who claims there were only two shots?
Edited on Tue Nov-23-10 04:03 PM by ieoeja
I have never heard anyone make that claim. It has always been:

1. First shot hits Kennedy.
2. Second hurried shot misses entirely.
3. Third shot hits Kennedy and the governor.

with you. Thank you for allowing me to clarify a poorly written post in a polite way-I really appreciate that these days. My sarcasm needed an icon.

And if it hadn't been in Dallas, it would have been another city.
