Same damn pattern I remember before Bush even though about running the media was kissing his ASS at all turns. They are doing the same B/S with Palin it's nothing but her in the news everyday. Even the Progressives are falling in the trap of elevating her.

make a dumb ass person look intelligent.By propping them up with favorable media time

3. Most people don't want to hear about Palin. The media likes her as a media star
but on CNN yesterday there were a lot of criticism of her book. No one takes her seriously, except for maybe the 28% who think she is qualified to be President.

24. Joe and Mika were pretty merciless today and yesterday
To where the producer was reading e-mail from Palin supporters giving Mika hell for not supporting Palin.

Mika (and this was around 6:55 a.m.) responded by saying that she was initially supportive of Palin but that she had eventually come to accept that Palin did not have the skills or capability to be president.

5. In the end, Bush still needed Diebold to get him in...
I really don't see Sarah benefiting from rigged voting machines. I still see her as a "throw-away" candidate, much like Bob Dole was in 1996.

OUT OF GAS!! How much more can America take?? Saw a post where she was the Tanya Harding of Politics! This is the WEEK THAT WAS!! Peaking a bit early, and her TRUE following is small!

WE HERE, MUST STOP TALKING ABOUT HER! Feeding a fire or something.

I will say this though, IF OUR Dems don't GTST soon, Repukes may get a running start in 2010!

16. So what?
That would translate into what -- about 400,000 books sold to numbskull know-nothings just like herself.

Not even a fraction of the support one needs for a national campaign.

12. Face it
Our media sucks! They are the root of all our problems. Think about it, cheerleading for Plain, the wars, tax cuts for th erich, insurance co's, big oil, you name it. Everything that is wrong with our country can be traced back to the media and it's inability to be truthful, honest and accurate.

14. An important difference is
that at that time, most Americans knew nothing about Dubya other than that he was a governor and the son of the previous president.

The public has already been heavily exposed to Palin as part of a presidential ticket and thinks she's a joke.

The media may be able to make the public forget 2008. The American public has a shockingly short memory. But still, she's starting with a disadvantage that Dubya didn't have.

17. She also quit half way through her first term
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 02:42 PM by rvablue
Shrub won and served out his second term as Governor. He was also well-liked in Texas. While Palin enjoyed this popularity before she was tapped to run for VP, her polls numbers at home were dropping like a brick before she up and quit. Probably to save herself the embarrassment of being voted out.

Americans do not like people who quit and walk away. This factor cannot be ignored.

21. No. Not really.
Firstly, in 1999, Bush was an unknown. All we knew about him was that was the son of former president George Bush and running as a moderate. Bush didn't bomb in his first introduction to the American people. Palin did.

The difference is that in 1999, Bush was beating Al Gore in most every poll. Today, Palin's numbers are horrendous.

Palin is not necessarily being lifted up by the media. They're mocking her for her poor book and her complete lack of viability outside of a core 20% of the population (or 9% if you believe that WaPo poll about voters who'd actually support her in 2012).

22. Good!
She currently has the lowest favorability rating of all of the GOP front runners. If the MSM wants to use someone most of the party dislikes to crowd out the message of the rest of the GOP that's fine with me.
