From the NYTimes 2 years ago: COMEDIANS FIND OBAMA JOKES A TOUGH SELL
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/15/world/americas/15iht-humor.1.14503508.html

The Bill Carter article begins:

"What's so funny about Barack Obama? Apparently not very much, at least not yet."

And goes on to say that --

"There is no doubt, several representatives of the late-night shows said, that so far their audiences (and at least some of the shows' writers) seem to be favorably disposed toward Obama, to a degree that perhaps leaves them more resistant to jokes about him than those about most previous candidates."

In other words, Obama was at one time virtually IMMUNE to satire.

Is this still the case? Are comedians beginning to make fun of him now?

And if they are, are they making fun of him TO THE SAME DEGREE that they ridiculed Bush? (Be honest)

I don't watch much commercial TV so I'm not sure, but I hope they're not. I happen to like Barack Obama (that's right, I still like him -- sue me!) and think he deserves to be -- and remain -- "above the fray."

1. Oh yea, they're making fun of him. Racist and bigotry fun, but no one cares.
And the fact that you find the need to apologize for still liking Obama just shows how crazy this place become.

2. Who's apologizing? I was just trying to pre-emptt the derision I get...
-- for saying I still like the guy.

Some of my friends who ALSO voted for Barack are now looking at me funny, just for standing by him.

But I'm curious: Who exactly is making racist or bigoted jokes about him? (I'm interested since, as I said, I don't watch much commercial TV)

4. Maybe I'm too much the idiot...
-- to know what the hell that means. Care to enlighten me?
