3. I'm wondering if these small bumps have something to do with *some*

Americans having buyers remorse about electing Republicans. And the only reason why his numbers haven't gone up more is because many Democrats are angry at him for one reason or another.

But, to be honest, his approval rating has been pretty much stable over the last year. It seems to fluctuate between 43-44% to 45-48%. Seems to be this 5% fluctuation, which I think is just outside noise, reflecting a snapshot feeling from day to day.

4. It could be...
Edited on Tue Nov-16-10 10:23 PM by jenmito
but he was at 44%/49% just a couple days ago. Maybe it's due to Obama's (publicly stated) continued desire to reach out to the Repubs. and the continued stubbornness of the Repubs. to give at ALL.

6. He was "upside-down" at 42%/50% a few weeks ago, though...
and hasn't been at today's numbers for a while.

7. No, the "liberal" media hasn't reported this.
They're always talking about how Obama's approval rating is supposedly tanking, yet they fail to notice that it's actually been exactly the same for about a year. The next person I see who says the media is liberal gets punched in the face.

8. Won't last.
You don't want to know how low I think his approval rating is going to be on the last day of his presidency.

15. This is his main tactic left from now to 2012 a charm offensive & many displays of presidentialness.

It's time to cheerlead him to a second term and focus like a laser on every Congress reace 2 years ahead of time. There's no point in lookig too much at what congress does till then it's only gridlock doing its thing.

16. these tracking polls are useless--this has happened before and then he's down again
then he's up again and on and on...until we actually see unemployment start to drop--I'll bet Obama will be stuck in the 40's, though considering the high unemployent his approval rating has been stable for quite some time with all the ups and downs.

17. Agree. A couple points here and there is meaningless.
His approval rating has been unchanged for about a year now. If it breaks above 50 or below 40 consistently, then you know there has been a shift.

18. The media is not the friend of Obama, of the Democratic politician or the Democratic party,
period.

They will not report anything that helps Obama or the people of these United States.
That is not how their bread is buttered, and we need to fight them as effectively
as we fought to get Keith's job back. Doing anything else means nothing.
