Some 14,700 rich Americans worried about a U.S. government crackdown on offshore tax cheats came forward to participate in a tax amnesty program the top U.S. tax official said on Tuesday.



Love it that the cheats are finally going to actually have to pay their taxes. I am not surprised the number was so large. The irs gets everyone eventually.

Of course, that does take away the amnesty part. But anybody caught now, their names should be highlighted and the companies they
work for should be visible to all.

and some of these tax avoiders do some hard time in prison for tax evasion.
