This crap about "the bow" ......
In France they kiss on the cheeks.

We shake hands.

I swear Obama could solve word hunger and Fox would say that Obama wants America's farmers
to have lower prices for the food they grow. Is this all "they" have got?

2. If
President Obama urged us all to brush and floss every day, glen beck would have his lemmings in a lather about how pariotic tooth decay is. Thank God for those lemmings or beck and his fellow right wing radio knuckleheads who have never done anything for America would be unemployed, (on the public doll if you will.) Who says one can't profit by being anti-intellectual.

3. Now is the
time to put the picture of bush and his KING kissing and holding hands and send it to Drudge, Beck, Rush and Fox. they would probably delete it. And if you ever got a post on CNN the right wing nuts would say it was photo shopped. I wish someone could catch Rush in a comprising position. And then send it to newspapers and TV all over the world. Even if the republican owned newspaper and media here in this country wouldn't do it. They would show it around the world.

4. The Japanese bow
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 01:37 PM by Retrograde
it's very deeply ingrained in the culture, and there is a complex hierarchy of who bows lower, who bows longer, how low one bows, etc. that I don't pretend to understand: it's a function of age, rank, sex and probably a lot of other things. Everyone does it: TV news presenters start with a brief bow to the audience. Larger department stores have employees whose job it is to bow to customers as they enter and leave.

When I used to go to Tokyo for business in the 90s I was always enchanted by the little animated person on the JR ticket machines who would bow when the machine spat out your ticket.

5. I spent much of my high school years around asians and the bow was ...
... very common. Look if Obama hadn't bowed Fox would have complained about that.
