MN Tribune Poll--MN Gov--Dayton (D) 41% Emmer (R) 34% Horner (I) 13%
Edited on Sun Oct-24-10 12:59 PM by book_worm
The generally good polling news today continues...

A new Star Tribune Minnesota Poll finds Mark Dayton (D) leading Tom Emmer (R) in the race for governor by seven points, 41% to 34%, with Tom Horner (I) trailing at 13%.

"The poll suggests that Democrats could be closing in on their best chance to win the governor's office in more than two decades, while Republicans may have a lot of convincing to do if they want to continue the Republican streak that Gov. Tim Pawlenty started eight years ago."

1. This confirms polling from last week by Survey USA
Dayton has been pushing hard against Democratic leakage to Horner, reminding voters Horner is in fact one of two Republicans in the race.

Mark will win this. He is well ahead of Emmer in outstate MN.

3. Outstate is area outside of Minneapolis/St Paul.
The cities are overwhelmingly Democratic, their suburbs switch back and forth between DFL and Repubs depending upon election and candidate.

Outstate is everything else. Excepting the NE part of the state (the Iron Range), these areas typically favor Republican candidates. But it looks like Mark will
carry them this year.

5. I heard Dayton on the radio when I was vacationing up there this summer.
The guy's a real fighting progressive in the Wellstone / Grayson / Al Franken mode.

6. Oh please, oh please.
I am so fucking sick of repukes ruining my state. If that asshole Pawlenty tries to run for President, I'm going to follow him around with a sign that has a picture of the fallen 35W bridge on it, with the caption: "America, this is your future on Repukes."
