In a statement this morning Chuck Todd called this admin Mccarthyesque
for making the accusation that foreign money is influencing our elections without any proof. He said he was quoting a reporter, but didn't say that reporter's name. It was a typical faux news move "some people say and now I'll put this bs out there in the ether".

He mentioned this after playing a clip of Obama using the foreign influence line, then followed it with a clip of Gillespie and Rove denying it.
Then he played a clip of Axelrod on one of the Sunday shows saying for all we know, there can be foreign money influencing our elections....that was followed by his McCarthy comparison.

Am I right in interpreting this as Chuck Todd comparing Obama to McCarthyism? Is this acceptable?
At what point is the line of free speech crossed by the msm?? Surely there is other language he could've used.
McCarthyism???? Is this the direction Msnbc really wants to be going?? Funny, they have a new commercial showing all sorts of ethnic groups coming together, saying that is what America is all about - and then have one of their top talking heads say the Dems are McCartyesque....

Am I over-reacting here? I am pissed and want to see Chuck Todd apologize. Totally uncalled for.
I will hand it to Savannah Guthrie, she did not acknowledge his comments and just kept talking.

4. To be fair, Chuck said Another Reporter called it McCarthyesque.
The Republicans consistently maAke allegations. In fact
the GOP is expert at McCarthy type tactics.

5. Awww, poor Chuckie
Trying desperately to make himself relevant, as he slides ever so much more quickly into irrelevance.

Let's help him get there. Let's ignore him.

8. Judging from the amount of whining that foreign money comment generated
It has to be true.

The president needs to keep hitting them with it.

11. Yep ...
Frankly, the chamber IS the republican party at this point ... They, and anyone who have any kind of association with them are dyed in wool Rs at this point, and will work actively against Obama and Dems regardless ...

Might as well go heads up at them, there literally is nothing to lose ...

12. No ...
it is bush league, and frankly biased reporting ... As noted, the Rs do this crape ALL the time, and "liberal" media carries their water for them by doing this "some say" crape ...

McCartyesque ... Are you friggen kidding me ???

Second on the list of hyperbolic crape to comparing things to the nazis ...

21. Chucky and Joe Scarborough are in the same boat!
One is just as bias as the other and they both spew out GOP leanings. I never watch Chuck Todd anymore and I don't know why he would want to stay at MSNBC and maybe things if he spits out enough trash Faux will ask him to join them!

22. I just sent him this email
Unbelievable that you suggested that this administration is acting "McCarthyesque" this morning on your show. Oh - I know - you were referring to what some reporter said....But Chuck...
YOU didn't say who that reporter was, sounds like something Michelle Bachmann would have said, but she's not a reporter.
How very Fox-like "Some people say....bsbsbsbs....and I'm not going to tell you who said it, I'm just going to put this out there in the ether, you decide."
Rather than doing the job that a journalist/reporter USED to do back in the good ol' days and researching the possibility that there is foreign money influencing our elections, you just went for the low blow. Guess we will have to wait for Rachel to do your job, as she is the only true journalist on cable news these days.

I have been a fan of your for years. I am a die-hard Democrat who has defended you over and over. (You're not very popular with Dems). I have had the Daily Rundown set up on my DVR since it's inception, but NO more. You crossed the line today. And you owe this administration an apology.

Too bad - I really like Savannah.

Jill

right at the Chamber of Commerce. Once again look at President Obama not at the organization that refuses to disclose it's donars.
