Do the Dems get enough credit for the Matthew Shephard Act?
I was reading an article earlier today that mentioned hate crimes, and I couldn't remember whether the law had been amended to protect gays. A little research took me to this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Shepard_Act

That's really one of those underacknowledged achievements by Obama and the Democrats. For years, the Republicans did all they could to block adding "sexual orientation" to the hate crimes law. Even in the most homophobic communities, the federal government now can prosecute violence against gays, even if the locals won't. Also, if New Jersey should fail to convict those who provoked Tyler Clementi's suicide, the feds could step in and prosecute.

1. Dems dont get credit for anything ever
I'm not going to make a list of all the important accomplishments that this administration had done, it would take too long. But here are a few nobody ever talks about ever, a nuclear reduction treaty with Russia, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and the prohibition of torture. I for one have never heard any of these things discussed in the media ever and they are all very important.
