Something I've come to realize about Obama in relation to his increase in ratings.
This is related to scheming daemons post here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x441345

Even though there are cooks out there. The majority of people genuinely listen to what he has to say and not only that believe when he says something. While when people in Congress, Reid or Pelosi, or any other official says something they take it with a grain of salt or disregards the issue.

It's like what we saw with the health care bill. When Congress spoke, or the ones on our side, they were drowned out easily enough because they are seen as weak. When Obama took charge of the dialogue the tables turned and people started to warm to the health care idea. There seems to be a sense of trust that many Americans get from him---especially when he talks to us on the circuit. I think it has to do with the fact he speaks in layman's terms, is friendly, and basically is a bit more straight forward than other politicians. Plus he doesn't really mince words either. He'll say things like, "It's not moving as fast as we hoped." or "We're trying but we're being held back." And he lists how and why. So then you're not left wondering what's going on.

It's like when the BP oil disaster happened and the media took charge of the situation. While the pundits disparaged his speech to the American people and were talking about how weak he was. From Rachel Maddow to Hannity----the American people loved it and felt he's doing and did the best he could. Well not some DUers, but majority of the American public responded well to his speech, very well indeed. It's similar to his latest speech or Q&A to the economy and the mosque thing. He thinks before he answers and he answers in a fair and reasonable way. He doesn't waffle or flounder about.

I'm starting to think now that the American people have more faith in him than they do in the system he's in. And unfortunately, for many of those who do have that faith--they forget he has major political obstacles he's dealing with from Repubs to Bluedogs, to Conservadems---that will not agree with him and hold him back, no matter how good his intentions might be. Interestingly enough, he at times willing shoulders this negativity.

Just my thoughts on the man and the way the ratings change.
