A MESSAGE TO DU FROM THE JOBLESS
Mark your calendars. On November 2nd, the politicians who delayed, diminished and denied help for the jobless must face thousands if not millions, of very angry voters.

The politicians hope we’ve forgotten how they added insults to injury, how the harmed our families, how they stole our future. But we haven’t. We won’t. And here’s why:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNN0jL4xUE4

Please vote Dem this November. Many people, including a number fo fellow DUers, are depending on loyal Dem voters to come to the polls. Thank you.

21. Forgive me but extended benefits were shut down for five months in the past 12.....
Two months at a time. You think a family on unemployment can afford two months of ZERO income.

Care to GUESS how many homeless that created.

I guess the American working person ISN'T too big to fail.

Oh.... and the Bush tax breaks for the wealthiest? They're looking all set to continue .

36. The House did its part
The Senate, by following its own rules, is nonfunctional. As long as majority rule no longer applies — and "filibuster by rule" is allowed — the Senate will remain nonfunctional. It seems to want it that way.

37. Fillibuster - WHAT fillibuster ???
Open your eyes my friend.
There was never any filibuster. There was only a THREAT of a filibuster? And that "threat" was enough for the Democratic majority to roll over and play dead for 5 months out of 12.

The Senate is non-functional you say? Is that the SAME Senat that has a DEMOCRATIC majority that I voted for in '08?

THAT Senate?
If it's nonfunctional NOW then why should I believe that voting in the same people AGAIN will make it more functional?

Oh ... and did you forget that he Senate and HOUSE went on vacation for TWO weeks last July while millions of americans had their unemployment benefits lapse. VACATION ??? WTF!

I didn't forget that and I won't forget that when I DON'T vote next November.

15. Absolutely. The 99 week UI cut-off for millions is around the corner in mid-late November.
Meanwhile, playground grudges are being played out against Pres. Obama and the Democrats 24/7 amongst the professional left and their fans.

Edited on Tue Sep-07-10 01:38 AM by Techn0Girl
Stick our fingers in our ears and ignore that Democrats allowed extended unemployment benefits to STOP for tens of millions of Americans for much of this year.

Cover our eyes and see no evil when Blackwater is STILL allowed hundreds of millions in government contracts

Put our fingers in our ears and go La La La...I can't HEAR you appoint Goldman Sachs executives to the Treasury - AGAIN !

See no evil , hear no evil and heaven forbid SPEAK no evil here.

Let's just ignore all that and pump more 3 dollar a gallon gasoline into our cars and complain about making minimum wage.

29. Yes. That's exactly what you're doing
You're sitting out and allowing the very ones ultimately responsible for all the things you're complaining about to take seats. None of that is being ignored, only you. If your solution is to sit out and do nothing, you've effectively taken yourself out of the conversation. Why shouldn't you be ignored?

32. So, when the GOP invades Iran -- and you know they want to --
that's OK with you because it's the Dems own damn fault, not yours for not voting.

We may not be drawing down fast enough, but I know we aren't going to invade another country with the Dems in charge.

Hellloooo.... This is your long term memory here and I have a message for you - it's just three words.

The Afghanistan Offensive.

What you say ? That's not really a war and we were in there with Bush , you say?

OK, I would have another message from your Gullibility Center ... but it's on vacation for 2 more years.

We're STILL in a war with two fronts - just because they aren't calling it a war doesn't mean the 5,000 troops won't be killed or injured this year.

The guy I voted for said he'd pull of of Iraq within a year.
We're still there.

Yeah, I'm not voting for ANY more of this crap again.

34. No, I'm in Texas, and although I can't do much to help nationally
I will definitely vote to try to make progress locally. I'm in the same district as Ron Paul and it is tough. I don't think we get 3rd party choices (besides Paul of course) so I just vote straight ticket dem.

I'm not talking about myself here, we're still employed and grateful for that. What I objectively can see though (perhaps because I am now outside the beltway), is that people are hurting. They are still very worried about the economy - lack of jobs. Obama gave a good speech and I'm waiting for the follow-through. If he can get enough people back to work, and seriously have us out of Iraq by the end of next year, he's got a good shot at re-election. He's got to do it though, not just talk about it.

My YouTube comment- let's see if it gets through:

1. Don't vote for any Democrats who extend the Bush tax cuts.

2. Never, never vote for any republican, under any circumstances. Oh, wait- vote republican if you really enjoy them trickling down on you for your entire lifetime. Join the Yellow Stream Voting Block.

3. Keep away from those Koch sucking teabaggers.
A. Don't know what Koch means? Look up the Koch brothers and educate yourselves.
