Oh, fuck you, Chris Matthews.
You didn't take a "skeptical" line on the Iraq war. You and the rest of the whores were out there trumpeting it from day fucking one--when shock and awe started. Don't lie.

2. False. Matthews was among the more skeptical TV people
Edited on Tue Aug-31-10 07:28 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
He made it clear time and again (before the war) he thought it unwise and was not persuaded on the stated cause.

By the standards of people *with TV shows* (as opposed to guests on TV shows) he was in the dove camp.

His subsequent patriotic eruptions were distasteful, but predictable.

6. re: pre-war and during war
He was not a cheerleader for going to war.

He was sometimes a vomit-inducing cheerleader for the war effort when we were at war.

3. Skeptical?
What about his orgasmic response to Bush in his fake flight suit? He loved him some hero-war-president-fighter-pilot-stuffed-crotch-mission-accomplished smirking W that day.

How soon you forget, Tweety. But videotape doesn't.

7. Definitely
He's hoping people forget. He used to have his panel of generals on every night pumping the war. Never had a peace advocate on.

Plus his network fired Phil Donahue, the only one who questioned the war.

He's trying to remake history. What an asshole.

8. While Matthews is schizophrenic on so many issues...
he did, in fact, stand out as one who vocally criticized the "Bush Doctrine" from the moment he unveiled his preemptive war strategy at West Point.

That said, it is absolutely true that when he thought the tide had shifted dramatically, when the rest of the media was propping up Bush* and the whole Iraq war as the greatest thing since WWII, Chris started his drooling sycophany towards little Georgie and his big "Mission Accomplished" moment.

Still, suck up or not, Matthews has always held firm in his criticism of the reasons for going to war.

10. Over on CNN, Gergen is bitching about not thanking Bush for the surge
and whining about Obama saying he will spend to help the veterans.

WTF happened to CNN AND Gergen?

11. He was not the only one pushing for the war in Iraq
Many of those that pushed for war in Iraq are now doing the same in regards to Iran. Israel tells our whores in Congress to pass an anti-Iran resolution and, voila, it passes by near unanimous vote!

And so was Pat Buchanan, strangely enough.

18. And to be accurate, so was Novak
Just because someone can be objectionable or even downright wicked, it's important to keep the record straight. Matthews is a difficult character, but he has some honor.
