Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Do you see why we think you're not very bright?

Ok, let's take out the stuff not directly referring to speech:

Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech.

Still no???

Maybe a direct question, then...

When, exactly, did Congress pass legislation directly curtailing your freedom of speech, Dr. Laura? Ms. Palin? Anyone? Anyone?
