Will trade policy ever be fixed in our lifetime, or is "the fix" in -- permanently?

With the exception of the Progressive Caucus and a few other members of the House; senators like Byron Dorgan, Sherrod Brown, and (of course) Bernie Sanders; and (unbelievably) even two or three Republicans, no one in Washington wants to acknowledge the obvious fact that it's America's suicidal trade policy that's at least half the ultimate root cause of our pitiful economic situation. Yes, Wall St's trillion-dollar house-of-cards burning down is the other huge part. But, of course, it's Wall St's insatiable hunger for ever-increasing profits which has fueled the offshoring/outsourcing movement in the first place.

Will Obama (or any subsequent President) actually address the nation and state, once-and-for-all, in so many words, "Let's face it --shipping all our jobs out to China, India, and Mexico has totally destroyed us. What the hell did we do? We've got to stop this -- like now."

2. Why is it bizarre and unrealistic to expect trade policy to be pro-worker and pro-envronment

Most of us work for a living. All of us breathe. Why should trade policy respect these two truths?

Do you really believe that we have no choice but to live at the mercy of corporate arrogance?

The biggest problem that we have right now, is that the country that we have the largest deficit with, also holds a lot of our debt.
