The Tea Party should be called the Whiskey Party. Here's why:
Edited on Sat Jul-24-10 10:59 AM by RBInMaine
First, anyone with any basic sense of history knows the Boston Tea Party and other colonial tea riots were mainly about protesting British monopoly of the tea trade via the British East India Company and NOT so much taxation. By the time of the Boston Tea Party, the cost of British tea was actually down from where it was before Britain's Tea Act. Of course, the current cement-headed TeaIdiots wouldn't understand that.

Next, what the TeaIdiots are doing is really much more akin to the Whiskey Rebellion early in Washington's first term. That of course is when backcountry farmers literally took up arms and stormed through Pittsburgh as they refused to pay the new federal tax on corn whiskey. To prove the new government and constitution could function, Washington called their bluff and sent in the cavalry. The cowards scattered even before the troops arrived. This was a critical event in history proving the strength of the federal government under the new constitution and that the rule of law, not armed rebellion, was to be the order of the times.

Finally, the TeaIdiots of today might as well be drunk on whiskey as that is about the extent of their thought process. And, probably most of those pot-bellied numbskulls just love their Jack Daniels anyway and swig it down along with the barrels of diarrea they swallow out of Rusty Limpballs fat ass all day long. (Nice image, huh. :-)

1. Very True, but Teahadist Party people are not really known for their
understanding of history.

I would add to your accurate analogy that the Whiskey Rebellion instigators were white, poorly educated, and living outside the areas where reading newspapers to be well informed was part of their daily routine. I'm sure the analogy goes much further, but I don't have much time to devote to research about Tea, Whiskey, or rebellious personalities.

2. Every thing they are protesting against
really goes against THEM. They don't want social policies...so no social security and medicare. The don't want the rich to be taxed, (they are protesting that they tax break for the rich is going to expire) they call that raising taxes, how stupid. Where in the devil would most of the states in this economy be without the help from the federal government. It just goes to show who ever took the survey of the tea bags was a tea bag and a liar. Intelligence is not one of the things you have to have to be a tea bag. In fact I think LACK OF INTELLIGENCE is the main prerequisite.

5. Just shows
How easily brainwashed some people are! Many of them are using SS, medicare and medicaid, or other "government" run programs, yet they say we should "take it away" from people, just not them!

Tax cuts for the rich have been the downfall this economy since Bush gave them their first one, then the second, all during a time of WAR when trillions were being spent fighting for the "OIL" in Iraq. These morons can't see the facts because they have to be "TOLD" what to protest, who to complain about and how to do it by the idiots like Rush and Beck! They are scared the black man is taking over the country, they are scared that the country will become a socialist country, they are scared of their own shadow! They are "mad" because taxes have gone up on cigarettes and booze, their favorite vices, and they are "mad" because they listen to hate mongers everyday and let those hate mongers get them all worked up. They are the "angry" minority of republicans that want to make people think they are "grass roots" average americans, but they aren't!

They are the gullible, the easily scared, the racists, the militia nuts, and the plain crazies! They are the republican base! Pretty sad when you think about it.
