If Sarah Palin is the nominee in 2012, then Obama will win at least 40 states
...including Alaska.

It is my deepest, sincerest wish that Sarah Palin somehow finagles her way to the GOP nomination in 2012.

But I'm pessimistic about it... I don't think she'll get it.

But a guy can dream.

1. Obama will win regardless of the Repub nominee
As long as there is decent GDP growth and a better jobs picture.

but, yes, if it's Palin it will be a wipeout.

She's collecting her chits for 2016, imho.

8. in 2016, the result would be the about the same, almost regardless of the Dem candidate
unlike Bush, the public seems to have recognized her as a hollow souled sociopath ahead of time.

10. some rumors from the campaign people for mccain is that the repugs
will take her down with infidelity stories and the like themselves before they let this happen. THey know it will be a generation or more before they recover.

Even the astronomically stupid on the right know she'd get slaughtered.

And, as I said of her run at VP, I personally don't think she wants the job. In fact I have a long-standing theory that she was more relieved to have lost than disappointed. I just never felt the woman wanted all that responsibility. Hell, she didn't even know what a VP did.

And why would she want to be VP in this climate?

Make no doubt about it: Sarah Palin has her dream job.

She gets to bless, with her long winded, awkward ejaculations of non-sensical bullshit, the most receptive of audiences who clap and cheer for her after every made-up word and crazy string of superlatives and prepositions and whatever the fuck.

She doesn't have to answer questions.

She doesn't have to make any commitments/promises that she could actually be held accountable for.

She doesn't have to cite information. She doesn't even need to provide examples...OF ANYTHING.

She doesn't have to write, or prepare, think, or figure anything out.

NO responsibility. Just yap and bring in the dough. This is what Sarah Palin was born to do. This is all she can do, in fact.

Would any of us pass up a job ranting about the same shit over and over again without ever having to worry about a bad crowd? Shiyet.

9. I think you've summed up the Palin phenomenon quite nicely
She's making big bucks playing to adoring crowds with no need to answer for anything. And she quit as governor of a small-population state to do it. No way she's going to be the 2012 nominee.

3. I think that is possible, IF the Obama team is vigilant and does not take the opposition for granted
Never do that in politics.

5. I doubt if she'll get the Puke nomination but if she tries
the Puke primaries should be very entertaining!

6. I think you're right -- should Palin win the Pukes' nom
Obama cruises.

I can't even imagine her standing on the same debate stage as Barack Obama.

7. The pukes do not have anyone worth a shit to run in '12...
and at their current rate of failure and quickly becoming a dead party, they will not have shit in '12.

11. She will be in the race
I'd say she has a good chance of getting the GOP nod, as their primary voters are very radical and can swing races. If she doesn't get it, I see her running as an Independent or under the Constitution Party and completely causing havoc all over for the Republicans.

14. I think she'll run as a 3rd party also
and fuck with the rethug vote. I've said a million times on DU that the rethug party leaders know they can't raise the half-a-billion it will probably take to run with her as the nominee.

12. she'll do what hundreds of 2nd tier politicians have done before her
whereby you run for President, knowing full well you won't win any primaries, get a ton of free PR/media hype, go on a book tour, double your speaking fee, get your own show on Fox News, etc etc.

she'll run, but it's not a campaign to win. It's a run to further her career. She'll probably drop out before the first primary too.

15. The elite ultimately control the party and ...
They won't let that happen. Even if she wins the popular support - they will act with time honored methods to gate in the "trampling roar of the bewildered herd".
