Who the hell's afraid of Jeb Bush???
Edited on Mon Jul-19-10 11:31 AM by Ross K
You know, I guess I'm not too bright, 'cause it's only been in the past three weeks that I've been seeing these "reports" on how John Ellis Bush could defeat Obama in '12. Yes, he speaks fluent Spanish. Yes, I have been told by The Mediocracy that the Hispanic vote is crucial to Obama's reelection. But saying, "Hi, I'm a banker and a realtor by trade, and I wanna slash spending, repeal healthcare, let Wall Street run amok, while maintaining my bro's tax cuts for millionaires" in Spanish, or English, or Alpha fucking Centaurian, is the same old, same old!

I cannot fathom how anyone could take this shit seriously!

3. Banker! Realtor!
What are the two professions that have done the most to fuck our economy into a ditch?

Thanks. I'll have Bachmann's Batshit Babblings for $200, Alex.

2. Wait - wasn't fluently speaking a foreign language a major negative
The Republicans were upset that Teresa spoke 5 and her husband at least 2 foreign languages.

He's the dangerous one. He's got a brain, and he's a hard-right ideologue.

Don't underestimate this bastard.

16. Don't count on that. He ran for governor here and everybody knew the story of him sinking
Broward Federal, and yet he was elected. We seem to have more than our fair share of doofuses here, but we've hardly got the lock on stupidity.

I've seen firsthand what he did to our state. Lord help us all if he's elected to a national office.

Until then, the Bush name is toxic.

6. Not just Jeb.
The whole Bush nest of vipers has been nothing but toxic to the country. And we have one of Jeb's cousins (Stapleton) running for treasurer in Colorado. We've had to survive too many Bushes already. Personally, I'd like to see all of them deported. To Uranus.

8. The fact that they're even floating this one shows how badly in disarray the GOP leadership is.
But the big problem is, as always, Americans have short memories. The name "Bush" should be as toxic in national politics as "BP" is in ecology. But it won't be forever. There are teams of specialists right now polishing that turd-- look how they're positioning the twins as social do-gooders.

Palin the Nominee? 48 states for Obama! Gingrich? 36! Pawlenty? zzzzzzz!

They can dress him up as Lady fuckin Gaga, but Nominee Jeb will get less than 240 ElectoraL Votes.

Hopefully more than the GOP could get away with.

14. Yes it would take allot of all of those
but if history has taught us anything its that the GOP is very very good at all three of those things. And to be frank just the thought of another Bush in the White House scares me to death. I lived through one I don't know if I could survive a second. All of you here who have already endured two of them have my sympathy and respect. Honestly though I am not sure the country could survive another seeing as how we barely survived the last one.

Even though you didn't live through the first disaster that is Bush, you really did. We are still going through it today. It was his spawn that caused this mess we're in, so welcome to 1988. LOL!

he won, he still won.

I do not mis-under-estimate Jeb running against Obama.

I don't understand how or why anyone would take him seriously, but he got elected to two terms in Florida.

I know the Constitution prohibits Bills of Attainder and corruption of blood, but I'm willing to support an amendment prohibiting descendants of Prescott Bush from holding federal office.

It was those union workers in Philly who chased that SOB for blowing them a kiss. I sure wish they would have gotten a hold of him that day. LOL! He was so scared hiding in the broom closet. LOL! Typical Bush. A Coward.

33. Awright, let's be UBER-generous to Jebby!
Let us posit that he takes back Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, Nevada AND Ohio.

Electoral Vote Total: Barack Obama 274, Jeb Bush 264.

Personally, I don't see Jebby breaking 240 in a contest with Obama.

25. ...and don't forget the depths to which the GOP and pundits will fall in order
to tear down their opposition. This will become more important if the House falls to the gop and they get investigatory power.

Don't underestimate their ability and willingness to take the low road.

28. He'd have to lose some weight before I'd start to be afraid of him Presidentially --
Here's a pic from June of this year from some Flordia-based news site:

He has an unfortunate tendency to accumulate much of his extra flab in his face. Much like Alan Grayson. It is what it is.

America will not put a fattie in the Oval Office. These are not the days of William Howard Taft.

Edited on Mon Jul-19-10 08:47 PM by saltpoint
Lawton Chiles, and he figured he had it in the bag.

But as Chiles himself put it in the final debate just days before the election, "The ol' he-coon walks just before dawn."

Jeb was too weirded out to even know what Chiles was saying, but what Chiles seemed to mean was, "You're a lying crook business man and I'm gonna kick your ass."

And he did.

I think it was interesting that in an extremely Republican election nationally, Jeb still lost in Florida.

I think the Pukes might be so desperate that they'd nominate him but I think President Obama's fastball is too lively for Jeb to hit.

30. Every Republican administration since 1952 has been powered by the Bush Crime Family.
Edited on Mon Jul-19-10 09:26 PM by Sebastian Doyle
They will not run unless they know they can win - or steal - the election. If Jeb is the nominee in 2012, consider it stolen. Probably Romney too, since his BAIN Capital has been involved in so many "joint ventures" with the Carlyle Group that he might as well be one of the family now.
