Palin's Twitter Meltdown

Palin's Twitter Meltdown

by AnnetteK

Sorry folks, had to do this one.

Can barely type for tears of laughter.

Silly Sarah just had to insert herself into the furore surrounding the proposed new mosque near Ground Zero in New York.

Well. it all went tits up for her, big time.

Follow me..................

First she tweeted this

Ground Zero Mosque supporters: doesn’t it stab you in the heart, as it does ours throughout the heartland? Peaceful Muslims, pls refudiate

Then someone with slightly more knowledge of the English language must have had a word because that tweet was 'tweleted' (see, we can all make words up).

It was replaced with this

Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real

Um, Sarah?, still not quite right

Updated with this

Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand, Ground Zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts. Pls reject it in interest of healing

The usual suspects are having a ball

@SarahPalinUSA Please repudiate, refudiate, repoofiate, reloofaiate, or just apologize for, your religious intolerance

.KeithOlberman

...So, Sarah got a bit hacked off with the mockery (you'd think she would be used to it by now).............

so she tweets this...

Refudiate," "misunderestimate," "wee-wee'd up." English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!
about 4 hours ago via web
.SarahPalinUSA

Palingates has an hilarious article up, apparently tweetland is afire

http://palingates.blogspot.com/2010/07/how-much-stupid-can-governor-dumbass.html

So has Wonkette, LGF, I'm told Huffpost. Why should we not get in the fun?

Update:It should be pointed out (again) that the "Ground Zero mosque" these idiots are ranting about is actually a proposed community center with an auditorium, swimming pool, and restaurants, in addition to a mosque. It would be housed in an existing 13-story building that’s two blocks away from Ground Zero and has no view of the area; there are two very big buildings in between the proposed community center and Ground Zero.

more

OMG!

From the comments at Daily Kos:

Roger Ebert had a zinger:

Urgent to @SarahPalinUSA: Shakespeare would rather have died than "coin" the meaningless non-word "misunderestimate."

100. I think it is unrefudiable that Sarah bathes in dihydrogen monoxide.
And I'm sure she will denify that she drinks it too.

I think this will be in the "Get a brain, morans" class.

Didn't she call on Obama to "refudiate" the NAACP just a couple of days ago? I'm pretty sure she caught hell for it then, and now she does the same damn thing again while claiming to be a wordsmith on par with Shakespeare?

Well, tweeting is hard work, I guess. She needs to take her ass back to Alaska and go on a nice, long, relaxing snipe hunt in bear country.

Edited on Mon Jul-19-10 02:37 AM by Vicar In A Tutu
...never, ever forget Bush. I mean, I know you cannot but still. Never forget that he served as President for eight years. Being a lockjawed, thicker than pigshit disaster zone doesn't preclude you from garnering the support of millions. Indeed, for many it seems to be a preference. "Vote for the imbecile, intelligence is ba---uhhhd!!!".

This sort of incident might actually increase Palin's chances of being elected Catastrophe-In-Chief and rendering the office of President effectively meaningless - no more valuable than a little trinket you might get for swimming five metres - for the rest of time.

39. Look it up in the fictionary!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-borowitz/palin-says-refudiate-appe_b_650841.html

WASILLA (The Borowitz Report) - Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin today defended her use of the word "refudiate," telling her critics, "Look it up in the fictionary."

While claiming that "refudiate" is a real word, she reserved her right to make up new words in the future.

"Everyone makes up words - Shakespeare, George W. Bush, Levi Johnston," she said. "The only person I know who doesn't do it is my husband Todd, who doesn't speak."

Gov. Palin also lashed out at those who criticized her use of the word "refudiate," calling them "incohecent."

40. Dear SarahTwit:
Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real

If you want to dredge up that raw, real catastophic pain caused on, just keep up using it to score cheap political points, missy. How many places you used to go to to work or shop or just get your coffee and eggs in the morning got turned into a smoking hole in the ground. How many of your friends and neighbors died there? How many places in Wasilla were filled with missing persons posters for weeks in desparate hope that there was some other reason they were missing?

It's not a toy. Don't play with it.

45. Did you ever wonder why Repubs so often push for "English Only"?
I get it now! Clearly, one language is more than enough (and perhaps a little too much) for their limited IQs.

59. Input from English 101 Teacher

OK, maybe I don't teach it now but I have in the past and that makes me an expert on bad writing.

I must say that I gasped as I read her various revisions. I don't think I've had a student who had that much trouble in the past 15 years.

It is astonishing to me that she couldn't have polished that sentence in a notepad before dashing it off. The fact that she didn't even think to do so--indeed, that she doesn't even care enough to do so--says volumes.

And to think, on television (McLaughlin Report) Sunday they claimed that she was neck-and-neck with Obama in the polls.

more in the same league as W......strategerize, neuclular, etc. Yes, he didn't know the language any better than you do.....you might not want to push the "English as the National Language" meme since you don't know much English yourself!

this time she is excusing her ignorance of the English language. Nice try arrogant, obnoxious, emotionally stunted half-Governor. You're a great role model for those people aspiring to stay stuck in the seventh grade mentally and emotionally.

Grow up.

85.  How DARE Stupid Sarah tell New Yorkers what to think?
As a native New Yorker, it makes me furious that this uneducated twit has the nerve to talk about people feeling "stabbed in the heart". "it is too raw" etc. For whom? If the familes want to speak, that is one thing but New Yorkers themselves went back to work PDQ and sold souvenir shirts within days. This isn't to be callous but I am damn sick and tired about her stealing the tradedy that befell NY and trying to attach herself to it for politcal gain. And her daring to speak for NYis completely disgusting. New York will decide for itself what it wants and has no need for imput from that asshole. New York is NOT her city. Go back to Wasilla.
