So whenever you see poll results that say 61% are in favor of something (ie. 61% don't want HCR bill repealed in latest Bloomberg poll) that's actually 93.8% of the non-crazies that are on the side of the Democrats/Obama.

Just look at the polls. No matter what the issue is, about a third of the respondents are always on the wrong side. These are the people who still supported Bush at the end, still think there were WMDs in Iraq, who blame Obama for the economic downturn that started in 2007 and would vote for Palin for President among other things.

It's very frightening to me that such a large portion of the population is completely insane.

The world we live in today, as americans, is one where 30-35% of those who have any interest in politics or government have absolutely no critical thinking in regard to the GOP - the GOP is right on anything, regardless of how bad an idea it is (see, Iraq, reckless bush tax cuts ...) and every D, no matter who smart, decent and competent he or she may be is the spawn of the devil with no positive virtues at all (Gore, Kerry, Hillary until she lost the primary, BO ...)

When President Obama ran for the Senate the Republicans imported carpetbaggerr Alan Keyes from New Jersey to run against him. Keyes ran one of the most incredibly inept campaigns in history AND still won 28% of the vote. An inept, lunatic fringe, out of stater took nearly 1 of every 3 votes against one of the most promising candidates our state or the nation ever produced.
