AP - "Rand Paul: Obama jabs at BP could harm spill cleanup"
Edited on Sun Jul-11-10 10:37 PM by TomCADem
Once again, another Republican complaining about how President Obama is being too tough of BP. Can you imagine if we had a Republican President with Republicans like Joe Barton heading the energy committee, and folks like Sharron Angle and Rand Paul in the Senate?

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul said Thursday that harsh criticism of BP by President Barack Obama's administration could contribute to the oil giant's demise and harm its ability to pay for cleanup of the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

The comments came in response to blistering criticism by Democratic opponent Jack Conway at their first appearance together. Conway blasted Paul for saying in late May that Obama's stance toward BP was un-American and anti-business. Those and other comments by Paul led to a backlash at the time that caused the Republican to retreat from the national scene for a couple of weeks.

Paul said Thursday that BP should pay for the Gulf cleanup, but that Obama administration's sharp rhetoric could help imperil the company.

"I don't want them to go out of business when they can't pay for the mess, and that's what that kind of rhetoric could do," he said. "I want BP to be in business so it can afford to pay for the mess."

1. Obama could suck out all the oil and corexit personally with a straw and the RW
would find fault. They are foolish and should be told to think before they speak, then dismissed.

2. I think they should keep on talking! It's been almost a week
since I've heard anything from Rand's stupid idea library. I want them to keep coming every day & I want them highlighted by all the media. Let everyone know just how much of a nut he is.

Fancy Farm is on
Rand Paul and Jack Conway are now both confirmed guests/speakers at Fancy Farm.

Western Kentucky will be the official capitol of the Political Junkies of America a month from now on August 7th.

We'll be there reporting from the decadent and depraved circus, stay tuned. ...... This will be so much fun.I hope this. 'Worlds largest political picnic' is attended by other DU folks. http://barefootandprogressive.blogspot.com/2010/07/fancy-farm-is-on.html
