Edited on Fri Jul-09-10 11:18 AM by jenmito
Audio only at WH site: http://www.whitehouse.gov/live

Since it's no fun without video:
CNN.com has it on their schedule of live coverage (scheduled to start 12:20): http://live.cnn.com/

MSNBC says they're going to cover it, but who knows...

3. He brought up LeBron James' name only to say he doesn't know much about those things...
and then started talking about the "team" HE'S on.

5. It was a great segue!
To me it was a subtle shot at the infotainment news networks before talking about HIS team. It was well done, imo.

7. Well, with the Lohan crisis and THE trade (sports teams) trauma...
MSNBC is just too busy I guess. They are pathetic.

9. Yup...
last I checked, they were interviewing a guy who had a bear in his house. "The Place for Politics"? :eyes:

12. dont know why they made this so down-tempo...
... even I'm a little bored with this one... the music they played before was straight off of Mr. Rogers piano .... the whole thing is very subdued.

14. I must admit, I was hoping for the "Ant that ate the Economy" stuff...
and, instead, it was very, very low-key and short. I wanted Cher in Vegas and it was more like Tony Bennett, lol.

16. I am wondering if his audience was made up of those who prefer....
low-key as opposed to those who attend town halls so the President tailored his discussion accordingly.

17. Well...
this was billed as Obama "speaking on the economy," NOT as "stumping for" or "campaigning for" a fellow Dem. He wasn't "firing up the troops" as they say.

19. You know, that may be it ....
... because Bill Burton apparently took some questions where the answer was, "this wasn't a stump speech, he just likes Harry Reid..." because of the positive comments he made about him.

You obviously have the situation where it cost $$ to fly the President (and 300 of his best friends) out there ... by doing the auto plant speech and this speech on the economy, it counts as a business trip (although, apparently Reid's campaign paid a portion of the cost.)
