President Obama, why did you elect to clean up after Bush? You know,
you took on a pile of shit and some Dems are against you? I have no idea why you are continuing to be right. Man, I know you cannot give up, but is it worth your while? Lastly, I fear for you, be safe!

Am an Obama lover!

2. Thank you. Tears are streaming down my eyes. This President is trying
his best but he is not getting any support from his own party. Seems as though they want him to fail and am rooting for him to be successful!

10. That's what I've been thinking too. If the democrats would support him it
would certainly make for a better agenda in congress. It seems to me his time is consumed fighting his own party. If the democrats fail, some of the democrats that think they are getting back in by being hard liners against Obama might well be surprised when the voters vote back in republicans. I think the democrats are their own worst enemy. Here we are with majorities and you would think we were the minority party. I'm getting PO'ed at the whole thing and those democrats in congress seemingly trying to sink Obama.

14. Good point
''democrats in congress seemingly trying to sink Obama''

So why haven't Speaker Nancy Pelosi and DNC head Tim Kaine spoken out and done something?

Why leave Obama out to dry like the party has done?

As I have written on this forum before, it seems to me like the Democratic party is eager to give up its majority in Congress again because it simply will not stand up for Obama. But if it does, this time it will lose the independent voters who have supported it (I among them).

15. I've heard similar from a number of independents now. I'm not a fan of Pelosi or
Reed.

3. Now's the time, baby!
President Obama and his admin do their own thing..thankfully they're savvy enough to have a whole network of supporters engaged and not depend on the unknown factor of the corporatemedia viewing public.

8. I know..we get a microscopic view..
on here of the lies put out because evidently they can't handle the facts.

I don't watch corporate news so the only ugly stuff I see is right here and I can always ignore it.
But, sometimes you just gotta set the record straight.

13. I am so thankful
that we have who we have in the top spot to handle the biggest load that any president has had to endure.

And it makes me sad to see "but I wanted a pony" people turn their backs on this chance to steer this country in the right direction. As a 49 yr old grandmother of three....it makes me sad.

16. "but I wanted a pony"
For me, its the arrogance and insulting nature of Obama's most fervent supporters and staff that make me even madder at Obama. I don't want a pony, I want what he promised me and hes had almost a year and has done squat for my issues. Worse yet, he now wants NAFTA2 for the pacific rim so we can lose every last job we have. As a union man I can never support that.

Truman didn't need congress' help to integrate the army, he just called his generals and said "do it or you are fired". Obama could do that with the gays and integrate them in, why wont he?

On health care, if he was really on our side, he would have started with single payer and negotiated down. Instead he advocates some watered down corporate crap with mandates when he ran against mandates.....then he sends health care out to die on the town hall circuit. How come all those trillions for rich crooks wasn't taken to the town halls? For once we could have seen unity in this country as both sides killed that crap. Between the 2 wars we are fighting and all the giveaways and bailouts so far in the last year, its been what, 3 trillion bux? With 100 million families in this country we could have given every single one a check for 30k. Instead my family got 250 bucks between the 4 of us, and when I compare my 62.50 with the billions in bonuses the rich crooks gave themselves with our money, I feel cheated.

The mistake you people are making is in thinking we must be freepers, haters, whatever. Actually, noone wants him to succeed more than us "left of the left". But when a guy fills his admin with the same Goldman Sachs/DLC crooks who wrecked this country in the first place, what is a progressive supposed to think? Because of his decision to do that, we of course have zero new restraints on the same type of disaster happening again, this time with life ins or god knows what else the greedy elite will come up with next to fleece us.

He fights our side more than he ever fights the reps, regardless of the issue, just like Clinton did. He uses the same MO as Clinton did too, run as a liberal, then turn around and govern as a DLC stooge. Workfare, Nafta, repeal of Glass-Steagall, MFN for China, whatever it took to make the rich CEO's happier. Obama is following Clinton's methods to a tee, even using a lot of the same people to do it.

When I look at Obama now, I don't see a chess player, I see a great speaker who refuses to lead because he prefers compromise. Except the issue is the repukes wanna throw 20 kids off the empire state building and us lefties insist on ZERO. Coming back to us and saying, "hey, we got it down to only 10 kids" isn't going to cut it.

That is NOT "change I can believe in" it is the same old shit sandwich the working class and poor have been eating for the last 30 years of repuke/DLC rule. I gave him money from my disability check, hobbled my broken ass all over town fronting for him, drove friends to the polls and begged everyone I met anywhere to please trust the dems and vote for him. Hooray, we won.

Except now, almost a year later, I see we really have won nothing at all except 8 yrs of DLC OBAMA, followed by the inevitable asshat neocon for 4 or 8 years. Things are so bad around here with jobs, the food pantries are empty and turning hungry people away, and all we are getting is more corporatism and bailouts/tax cuts for the rich?

I submit to you that it is your side that wants the pony. You want loyal dem voters who don't care about issues as long as their team wins. I've got kids and their future comes before Obama's or the party. This health plan as written will end schip in NY and my kids will lose their coverage, so now if I don't pay the Aetna extortion premium I goto jail or have money taken from me? Where am I going to get the money for the premiums , co-pays, medicine? So basically my kids go from free health care to none at all because the govt says my SSD is more than the ridiculously low poverty level they set?

I watched him tonight on the whitehouse site speaking in China and he wants even more "free" trade. Ya know, the kind that costs us 600bill a year in trade deficits and is hardly free. Ughhhh.

I'm pretty sure I could give most people on DU 3 trillion and they would create millions of jobs. I myself would have built factories and outlawed outsourcing. I would have insisted every single company taking money never outsource or insource a single job ever again under severe penalty of law. We would be building windmills here instead of importing them and I would have bought 10 times the amount this admin will ever support. I've totally given up on most of his other promises about public school through college or high speed rail, but I could live with that if he did just a few major things to show us on the left we didn't just totally get punked by the DLC once again.

Obama said we'd be out of Iraq in 16 months. That would be may 2010 right? Why is it 2012 now?

Sorry for the long post, but you guys better be careful what you wish for. When you drive us all away you can be assured of harmonious discussion here, and disaster at the polling places in 2010. It was the dems who controlled congress when all that money was given to the rich. The economy is still getting worse even though Obama said we turned the corner when we went from 9.5% unemployment to 9.4% this summer. Its 10.2% now and its going to get worse. The repukes are going to ride those wagons until the wheels fall off, and my guess is a very desperate America is going to once again "throw the bums out".

If you really want to understand our anger, you-tube any position of his when running for office and then just keep watching him speak about that issue as time goes on, especially after he won. He asked us to hold his feet to the fire, and I'm sure gonna do it, because its life or death for alot of my friends and family.
