Barton takes the heat off Hayward
watching the reaction to Hayward's testimony.
Barton blew him a big wet kiss.
and has taken the heat off Hayward is a way I thought would be impossible.

Barton is a dope, no doubt about it,but thats hardly worth letting Hayward off so easy.
Hayward was the most obtuse witness before congress ever.
Because of his performance yesterday BP deserves the disdain of a nation.
Quite separate from the gulf disaster
talking heads should be ashamed for focusing on Barton and letting Hayward off.

1. As far as I'm concerned BP and the GOP are both culpable.
That little display by Barton is a prime example of how we got such a lax regulatory and inspection process. Putting the focus on the GOP as a big part of the problem in the gulf is long overdue. There's no need to put on blinders and focus solely on BP.

3. The oil is still flowing and will be for a couple of months at the very least.
What good would it do to try and distract people for only a couple of days? Believe me Tony Hayward and BP aren't going anywhere

Barton's comments don't take the pressure off BP. They only broaden the focus to include the GOP, as it should be.

5. You are right.
The Joe Barton shameful display of total stupidity only served to show the people where the money grubbing Republicans are.
