GOP keeps digging! Sen. Cornyn (R-TX), NRSC chairman, says he shares Barton's concern.
Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican, indicated he was sympathetic to Barton’s point of view.

“I think it’s good that there’s going to be some money there,” Cornyn said to a handful of reporters. “But I think the part that Representative Barton is expressing some concern about, that I share the concern, is that this has become a political issue for the president and he’s trying to deal with it by showing how tough he’s being against BP.”

“The president’s kind of gone from commander-in-chief to claims adjuster-in-chief,” Cornyn said. “I just think the federal government finds itself in a crisis situation and finds itself embedding the federal government in what heretofore usually has been resolved by legal contracts and the requirements of the law.”

1. So now that Obama is wringing BP's neck, Republicans are going
from "HE'S NOT DOING ENOUGH" to "LEAVE BP ALONE!"?

2. the people that got hurt will get paid
that's the important thing, and it's easy for everyone to see.

I'm so glad Cornyn is playing this losing game, I hope the rest of the GOP does too.

4. What I find amazing
Is yesterday I was waiting to hear the president Obama talk after the meeting and was watching Andrea Mitchell. She had a "REPUBLICAN" on and she said it was him, the republican she was talking to that first came up with the idea of making BP put money in some kind of escrow account. Now the republicans are trying to use it against the president. Is Palin writing the right wing talking points or what? No matter who had the idea, the president got it done, and it's what I kept hearing the people affected complaining about, that BP would end up not paying out the money. Now they have 20 billion set aside. What kind of idiots are running the republican party anyway? No need to reply to that, I know what kind of idiots are running things!

7. barton and cornyn will both get reelected.
The knuckle dragging idiots that voted for them the first time will vote for them again. Texas (my state) has a lot of brain dead voters. Only the dead girl or live boy cases cause any problems for conservative, corporate-whore, liars in their races.
