Jerry Brown re: Meg Whitman-"by the time she's done with me, I'll be a child-molesting..."
Edited on Fri Jun-11-10 11:26 AM by kpete
California Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Jerry Brown compared his free-spending Republican rival Meg Whitman to Nazi propaganda master Joseph Goebbels as he laced into her higher-office ambitions.

...........

"You know, by the time she's done with me, two months from now, I'll be a child-molesting..." Sovern quoted Brown saying. "She'll have people believing whatever she wants about me."

Then he added, "It's like Goebbels...Goebbels invented this kind of propaganda. He took control of the whole world. She wants to be president. That's her ambition, the first woman president. That's what this is all about."

Brown's camp did not deny the statement when asked directly about it, but said it was "jogging talk" that was "taken out of context."

2. Actually, I wish more politicians like Brown would call out the Goebbels-like propagandizing
..we're inundated with...

usually -- like Clinton's brief forays against "hate speech" on radio in the 90's - a hasty retreat is beaten whenever the truth is glimpsed...

5. And he hit the nail on the head
This is just her stepping stone to the White House

Why else would she spend over $100 million of her own money (which she will be Nov.) to get a job that pays $200,000. This isn't about being governor of California.

12. I always wait, (in vain), for a pol to just stand up and say...
"You know, you're full of shit."

If I were in the House, I'd be in trouble constantly for breaking the "rules of decorum". Boehner would be called a liar and drama king, (he is); I'd call bachmann a "batshit crazy hack", (she is); and a host of others would be called out for the brazen idiots they are. Good Lord, if I followed Foxx (sp), that troglodyte that can't put a sentence together, I'd use up all my time telling my fellow congresscritters she is little more than a tossback to the Stone Age.

13. Anybody ever try to get ebay to fix a mistake? A company reflects its
founder, and it's a seriously low-service organization.

I was born in CA, but grew up in Oregon. Our former governor is running as well, so it's like a western state thing this year.

16. I live in CA now but didn't when he was Gov. He sounds like a
fighter to me and that's what we need. I hope he kicks her ass. He's already wanted to debate her and she declined. IMO, that says a lot. I hope they debate in the General Election.

Whitman is about 2 times better than Fiorina who is going to lose. If Jerry is the best the Dems can come up with to govern our largest state we are in serious trouble.

Really, where are some fresh energetic democrats, like a young Bill Clinton?

But you're wrong about Mr. Brown. There's no one smarter, feistier nor better equipped to bring California back to solvency.

Maybe that was the point?

22. We could use a lot more governors like Brown and many fewer like Meg
Whitman.

The Brown / Boxer choice in California this fall is megatons better than the Whitman / Fiorina slate.
