For all of the talk about "anti-incumbent" fever...so far, regardless of
party, the Primaries have shown me what I've always believed:

1. The media "makes up" it's news stories, basically for nefarious purposes.

2. The people who say they "dislike" congress or give it a low rating, are actually thinking of congresscritters other than their own.

For a while, many of the threads here spoke the words of the media, "a big shakeup is coming", perhaps, but if D's show up at the polls, and I's look at what the GOP offers...if anything, there will be more D's in seats next Congress. Essentially, it comes down to voters voting, and looking at the issues and using their ballot intelligently.

At this point in time, I don't see any great changes with the exception of possibly losing a Senate seat, (AR), and actually gaining in other races. So, we should certainly not sit out this election, (as we should never sit out an election), and make sure we get even more D's in.

The other thing is to squeeze our congresscritters to enact laws that benefit the citizens of this nation in clear, concise ways. We can do it, but not if we give up or sit around playing, "we're doomed!".

It comes down to what we as voters do, or fail to do...I'm looking forward to some gains...:)

2. "are actually thinking of congresscritters other than their own."
.... yep, multiple polls are bearing that out .... and it's a major factor the MSM is missing.

3. Media still hyping "anti-incumbent rage" even though the results were the opposite.
The media makes the news, they don't report it.

Did you hear that a schoolkid fell asleep while Obama was giving a speech? What about Obama using a teleprompter! And, did you know that he was born in Kenya?

Right wing media wants Obama and Democrats gone and they will not let facts get in the way of their goals.

4. It is reminiscent of Hearst and run-up to the Spanish American War...
and the mythical statement, "You furnish the pictures and I'll furnish the war.".

Even so, the mindset is yellow Journalism, albeit in electronic form as opposed to print these days.

One of the problems is what outlets consider "news". Most of what I see has a lot to do with entertainment, sports, and "filler". When news is actually "reported", it is in a format designed to advance the career of a pundit or benefit the outlet. Citizens have always been swayed by the way things are presented in the news, but the population has been systematically dumbed down to the point where they actually think Scarborough, Limbaugh, Beck, Blitzer and a host of others are investigative journalists...when the fact of the matter is, they exist to do nothing more than push corporate and their own views.

FOX is the perfect example of how things get twisted into Hearst like hyperbole, and on a much grander scale. On the few occasions when I tune in Fox and Friends for a laugh, I am absolutely amazed that those 3 have any sense of worth at all, when I watch that vegetable bin, I feel as if I have a PhD in world affairs compared to those buffoons...:D

6. I do too...
and if the media was a little more "on", we'd hear a lot more about what congresscritters are really doing instead of the next "sexcapade" scandal that comes along...they appear as if they are nothing more than perverts looking thought windows, while the thieves are storming out the door w/everything of value...:(

7. "squeeze our congresscritters to enact laws that benefit the citizens of this nation"
That's been the case for 18 months now.

Ironically- it's been the House of Representatives that's been having a go.

And the administration and the Senate that's been in the way.
