WTF? Palin wants Obama to call her
Sarah Palin says its time for President Barack Obama to pick up the phone and make some calls – maybe even to her.

In her latest post on Facebook, the former Alaska governor takes aim at the president for not speaking directly with BP CEO Tony Hayward during the ongoing Gulf Coast crisis. Obama told NBC Tuesday that he has not spoken with Hayward because "when you talk to a guy like a BP CEO, he's gonna say all the right things to me - I'm not interested in words, I'm interested in actions."

Palin wrote that Obama's comments amount to "further proof that it bodes well to have some sort of executive experience before occupying the Oval Office," and added that the president should call experts who lived through the 1989 Exxon-Valdez oil spill in Alaska – including herself.

"We've all lived and worked through the Exxon-Valdez spill," she wrote. "They can help you. Give them a call. Or, what the heck, give me a call."

3. No one despises Palin as much as me but if she had an idea, I'd call her.She doesn't so it is moot
Edited on Tue Jun-08-10 09:22 PM by saracat
But we need to start bringing other nations in. Russia and the ME. Others have offered help and that is wrong, IMHO. This effects everyone. We all must work together( except for Palin, she has proved most of her ideas suck!)

15. kick the box of crazy back to Wasilla! I get so tired of the ignorance of people like her. Sure
Obama is even more tired of her. What a buffoon she is asking to talk to him. For what? To tell him thanks for winning so she didn't have to be held down to a low-paying job? LOL

7. I bet Obama can think of a few things to call her.....
...though of course, that's not what Miss Bendy Straws means.

Jeez, she really thinks she something, doesn't she? Thinks she so freakin' important that Obama should waist time on her.

That woman is an idiot!

8. Maybe he should take her up on it
Appoint Sarah Palin "Oil Spill Czar." Put her in charge of plugging the well, clean-up, and recovery.

I'm sure with her extensive executive experience she'll have the whole thing taken care of in a jiffy.

Edited on Tue Jun-08-10 10:45 PM by Divine Discontent
right now, I would LOVE to see what she would do if Obama called her in for her "oil" expertise. How horrendously bad would her decisions be... sheesh. Oil Spill Czar is perfect for her! HA!

Obama may not be doing fantastic, but thank God the alternative isn't in power - and the chances of Obama calling her for advice are somewhere between never and never.

13. In 1989, Sarah hadn't even been elected to the Wasilla City Council yet.
She had finally earned her college degree only two years before, worked a little bit as a sportscaster, and eloped with Tawd in August 1988. The Exxon Valdez spill happened on March 24, 1989. Young Track Enfield Palin was born on April 20, 1989. I doubt that Sarah was paying much attention to the details of the oil spill.

14. Palin doesn't know a freaking thing about how to handle oil spills.
She was working with Todd in their fishing business in 1989 when the Exxon Valdez spill happened. Hardly executive level experience.

Furthermore, that was a static spill in 1989. Once all 250,000 barrels of oil spilled out of the tanker, that was it.

This is a "living" spill, causing more oil to gush out every hour.

In addition, Exxon is an American oil company, subject to American laws. BP is a British company. Not subject to very many American laws.

34. Once again the neocons show how ignorant they are, I mean of course Obama is speaking those experts
Seriously, the neocon's political rhetoric is going more and more for the emotional soundbytes, and less for the facts of reality. I mean it doesn't take two brain cells to realize that government people, including Obama, are likely talking to experts of past oil spills, like the Exxon-Valdez spill, and other oil spills in the water. I mean the president even said himself he was talking to a bunch of experts in interviews who might know the best answer to this problem.
