Schwarz decides against independent run for governor (MI)
Former Congressman Joe Schwarz said today he's decided not to make a run for governor as an independent because it would be too costly and difficult to raise the money this late in the game.

The 72-year-old Battle Creek physician said supporters urged him to take the plunge but he made the call not to do it.

"I've spent my lifetime trying not to do things that are sinfully foolish," Schwarz said.
