I know how to raise President Obama's approval rating to at least 80# positive... instantly.
All he needs to do is get Armando Galarraga, James Joyce, and Bud Selig together at the White House for a summit. They could have beer, peanuts, and hot dogs. President Obama could publicly state that Umpire Joyce acted stupidly, and convince Bud Selig to overturn the call, thus giving Gallaraga a perfect game.

Everyone walks away happy and President Obama's poll numbers go into orbit.

Afterward, they can have John Fogarty do a show at White House and he could open with his hit song, "Centerfield".

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We’re born again, there’s new grass on the field.
A-roundin’ third, and headed for home, it’s a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way I feel.

Chorus:
Oh, put me in, coach - I’m ready to play today;
Put me in, coach - I’m ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be centerfield.

Well, I spent some time in the mudville nine, watchin’ it from the bench;
You know I took some lumps when the mighty casey struck out.
So say hey willie, tell ty cobb and joe dimaggio;
Don’t say "it ain’t so", you know the time is now.

Chorus

Yeah! I got it, I got it!

Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know I think it’s time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch ’em all - a moment in the sun;
(pop) it’s gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

Chorus
Chorus

1. you are right fucking baseball is all that matters
I could give a shit if these three assholes who make millions by balls being whacked around drink beer with obama

how the fuck is that gonna make me feel better?

I think he should invite Thad Allen and Tony Hayward to a wildlife cleanup. I wanna see those motherfuckers up to their chest in oily muck cleaning coastlines. There should be 24/7 webcam fixed on the happy couple as they toil. Then I might give my "approval."

fuck baseball

2. Whoa. Easy there Turbo. Can you say tongue in cheek? Tongue... In... Cheek? Say it slowly.
Then take a deep breath.

Besides, President Obama is down in the gulf at this very moment, isn't he?

6. Well, I appreciated your sense of humor.
I didn't see that game and haven't watched the call but I plan to. I swear I'm thinking about watching only sports that don't use referees - like track and field. There are a few NBA refs that I really, really dislike.

7. When seen from the left field camera perspective it's possible to understand why he made the call
that way. It looks like Gallaraga juggles the ball while stepping on the bag.

I still think the call should be overruled though, and that G should get his perfect game. Also, the batting average of the guy who made last out should be updated to reflect that he shouldn't have been at the plate.

9. God, I thought you were going to say another 911
Obama sitting in classroom, not knowing what to do. Flying around the country not knowing what to do. Finally getting to the city, and grabbing a bullhorn. And boom, approval ratings in the 80's.
