Clinton backs Causey in Ark. runoff
Former President Bill Clinton endorsed a Democratic congressional candidate in his native state of Arkansas on Wednesday, backing former House staffer Chad Causey's campaign ahead of a runoff primary election Tuesday.

The endorsement puts Clinton's political prestige further on the line in Arkansas's second round of primary voting June 8: The former president has also endorsed incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln, who is locked in a close primary battle with Lt. Gov. Bill Halter.

Causey's campaign is broadcasting Clinton's endorsement in a radio ad that features the former Arkansas governor telling listeners: "I'm supporting Chad Causey and I hope you will too."

In the ad, Clinton says Causey, former chief of staff of retiring Rep. Marion Berry, has "a track record of results for Arkansas. Chad worked to increase veterans' benefits, to protect Social Security and Medicare. He's worked to create new clean energy jobs. And he stood up for Arkansas farmers. So on Tuesday, June 8, please vote, and vote for Chad Causey for Congress."
