We're DOOMED! Our President is just standing there all cerebral, showing no emotion
Edited on Tue Jun-01-10 09:30 PM by EffieBlack
This is NO way for a President to act in a crisis!

Let's hope that President Obama has taken a lesson from those failed examples of leadership and discarded that old, ineffective way of governing and adopted the approach of our most recent past president who showed the world how crises should be handled:

2. K&R. Great pics. I wrote something today about the "cerebral" being bad, too...
They call him "cerebral" and that's supposed to be a BAD thing?! We ELECTED him

because he's cerebral, cool, calm, and collected. We HAD an "emotional" and NON-cerebral failure of a president for the past 8 years. I thought people were TIRED of that.

5. That's right...
but Obama has the added problem of NOT being "wooden" like they called Gore. Obama's "cool." AND cerebral. That bugs the **** out of them so the only thing they can do is accuse him of NOT being Bush-like with that "bullhorn moment." :eyes: And everyone remembers how unpopular Bush was when he left office, "emotions" and all.

Joe Scarborough and to Hardball. that will flip them out and send a real message.
And while you are at it, send one to CNN as well

11. So you are intimating that the presidents lack of action is "being cerebral?
BP is ordering a no fly zone over the area. How do they do that? By what authority can they do that? BP is using toxic dispersants against the advice of the best scientists. Why are they being allowed to do that? BP is determining what methods to use to fix the disaster that their incompetence caused. Why are they allowed to do that without outside help and/or oversite? And where does the president come in to this? Just be cerebral?

No one is suggesting he be like Bush, and shame on you for suggesting that, but he should be doing something other than deferring completely to BP.

13. Frankly, I'm with you.
Since he took office I have been waiting for Barack Obama to display some deep passion ... not high rhetorical language, but some real 'from the heart' passion.

Frankly, I have yet to see it on any issue -- upon the possible impending death of the Gulf of Mexico, now would be a good time.

14. You should have gotten a clue from the campaign that he doesn't show "deep passion" that way.
Wanting him to change his basic nature is unreasonable.

If he did then people would say it was phony.

He is who he is.

People could have voted for McCain if they wanted "passion" and "outrage". He also reacted quicker and less cerebral. That is what everybody wants now. People were smarter during the election.

Either you didn't really listen to him during the campaign or you just recycling some blogs talking points.

24. What good would really listening have done? We had two choices.
All I am saying is that during the campaign, he spoke with passion about change. Now he is "cerebral" and associating himself with major corporatists.
I knew enough not to listen to him and I am not surprised at the outcome.

16. Primary challenge.
Well, I voted for Obama ... but I hope there is a passionate progressive challenger for the nomination in 2012.

Aside from the Obama/Duncan education polices -- which I oppose 100 percent -- I'm just too frustrated witnessing the 'cool', the cerebral, the bipartisanship, so on and so forth.

I don't regret my vote, but I'm ready again for some change.

and get him elected. Should be very easy.

It's nice of you to try to engage the poster who made the comment above, but imo anyone capable of typing such a stupid, pointless sentence should be avoided like the plague.

As if the President showing "deep passion" means anything at all or gets one damn thing done for anybody. The only person needing to see "deep passion" from Obama should be his wife.

18. Why does everyone watch these pundits?
All you do is contribute to their ratings?

I wonder if folks don't realize that they actually end up giving it a larger bullhorn by endlessly posting those same quotes on this site?

25. Some people won't be happy until he goes to the podium
and belts out Don't Cry For Me Argentina. They don't want action, they don't want facts....they want a show! Maybe next time Obama has a press conference he should end it with a tap dance while singing Mammy, and for an encore he can get down on his knees and scream at the top of his lungs “YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! DAMN YOU! GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!!"
