"Obama to BP: Drop Dead"
(note: this particular blogger has a pretty dry wit, read with that in mind)

Obama to BP: Drop Dead
by KEITH KOFFLER on JUNE 1, 2010, 2:50 PM

President Obama today appeared in the Rose Garden to drive home the point that BP is bad people and he’s got nothing to do with them. And by the way, they might land in jail too.

We will absolutely continue to hold B.P. and any other responsible parties accountable for financial losses born by the people in the region . . . If our laws were broken, leading to this death and destruction, my solemn pledge is that we will bring those responsible to justice on behalf of the victims of this catastrophe and the people of the Gulf region.

And Obama took a moment to blame former President George W. Bush for the oil spill.

When Interior Secretary Ken Salazar took office, for example, he found a Minerals and Management Services Agency that had been plagued by corruption for years, corruption that was underscored by a recent inspector general’s report that uncovered appalling activity that took place before last year.

Secretary Salazar immediately took steps to clean up that corruption but this oil spill made clear that more reforms are needed. For years there’s been a far-too-cozy relationship between oil companies and the agencies that regulate them.

Notice the slight shift in emphasis from last week’s press conference. Instead of simply saying that his own administration failed to do enough to reform the previous regime, Obama suggests he could not have known he didn’t go far enough until “this oil spill made clear that more reforms are needed.”

"I'm naming an executive of other oil companies to investigate you."

A stinging rebuke, indeed--though the sting might actually be the dispersant.

8. actually that is a great idea
an executive from a competitor would crucify BP.

BP is not well liked in the oil industry.

4. plagued by corruption since Bill Clinton years
Just got a bit worse under Bush.

Still, Obama has been president long enough to have done something about it, but he went ahead and said he wanted more deep sea drilling anyway. Why? Never had been an accident. Huh? Just waiting for the first one? That does not cut it with me. I'm getting angry.

Probably would be less angry if he would focus more on the cleanup. He needs to roll up his shirtsleeves and go back to his community organizing self.

POLITICO (Washington) - While the BP oil geyser pumps millions of gallons of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and members of Congress may have to answer for the millions in campaign contributions they've taken from the oil and gas giant over the years.

BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company's political action committees - $2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.

On top of that, the oil giant has spent millions each year on lobbying — including $15.9 million last year alone — as it has tried to influence energy policy.

6. Obama got the biggest chunk cause McCain accepted Public financing during the GE.....
and that would be BP employees contributing to Obama's campaign....
cause Obama accepted no PAC money from PB.

But we shouldn't let these facts get in the way....cause it might spoil a
perfectly great "Leave out the details" Politico Article....and
we wouldn't want that, would we?

7. Then post your link and get it out there...
And what part of 'no ones hands' do you not understand? BP contributed to (bribed) everyone that would take their cash on both sides of the aisle. That was the whole point of the OP.
