"No end to the crazy. "

Fired Up! ... Really

Josh Marshall

The Danville, Virginia Tea Party organization has announced a "Fired Up for Freedom" rally at which they'll burn Rep. Tom Perriello (D-VA) in effigy, along with Speaker Pelosi.

No end to the crazy.

I'm so old I can remember when ritualized symbolic execution of public officials wasn't cool.

Group Of Psychos

1.  I know none of us ever would, but WHAT IF someone burned them in effigy?
Would we ever hear the end of the whining? Too bad I'm too good to stoop to their level.

16. Don't punish the effigy.
An effigy of a Republican Congresscritter probably has more empathy, smarts and sanity.

We should help GOP voters to elect them.

2. Doesn't "Fired Up" sort of belong to President Obama? I mean do
these idiots realize the irony in their "borrowing" from the person they're protesting against? My head hurts.

8. I remember that. It was Councilwoman Edith Childs,
the "little lady with a big church hat' who yelled "Fired Up!" And made Obama jump, as he put it. It was a great highlight of a great campaign. Fun.

12. No it's free speech
burning politicians in effigy has a long and fine tradition. This is not some autocracy where politicians are the equivalent of the state itself.

15. EXCELLENT!
That'll draw what's remaining of the sane-ish republicans away from the now-bat-shit-insane republic party.

Let's see...18% of Americans identify themselves as republican...should see that drop to 17%. Can't think there's more than 1% remaining who are sane-ish.
