Brooks Picks Up Endorsements, Griffith Reacts
With two weeks left to go in the Primary campaign season, Republican District 5 hopeful Mo Brooks has picked up several major endorsements. State Senator Paul Sanford, State Representative Phil Williams, Madison County Commissioner Dale Strong and Limestone County Republican Chair Jim Burden held a joint news conference with Brooks Tuesday morning to announce their support. Former Republican Congressional candidate Wayne Parker, who threw his support behind Brooks a few weeks ago, was also there.

Perhaps the most surprising of the endorsements came from Burden. Even he recognized that during his remarks. "It is very unusual for a Republican Party Chairman to endorse in a Republican Primary." Burden said " But these are unusual times that demand bold action. I cannot sit on the sidelines when I know America's future is at risk."

Incumbent Republican Parker Griffith was quick to respond, saying "These endorsements are no surprise. Mo Brooks is a career politician and over the years has picked up lots of IOUs from other politicians which he is calling in for his latest campaign. The endorsements I have received from the Alabama Farmer's Federation, Alabama's Realtors, the NRA and the Alabama Republican House Delegation are based on my conservative voting record and on my work to stop Nancy Pelosi's agenda in Washington and not past political favors."
