The Pundits are out there shovelling some pretty hefty trash...
For one thing, Rand Paul is not some kind of bellwether, unless you consider a candidate with the personality and charisma of wet spaghetti something to get all riled up about. His "victory" speech sounded like a he was 14 years old, and not just tired, but just plain stupid. I don't think he has a chance, in the General.

Lincoln in a runoff, that doesn't mean anything other than she is facing a hard run-off. It will all depend on the # of voters that show up on the day of said run-off. I don't think she'll survive.

The big one of the night was PA-12. Critz won handily, and that speaks volumes, R's did not show up in large enough #'s in an R district, (if they did, they voted D). It was the one really important election, one that really counted, and R's lost. This is not to say that this is the death knell for the GOP, it jsut shows that the people of that district do not want to give the R's another seat in the House.

I've predicted that the R's will actually lose seats, the pundits have it the other way around...I can't see the "Party of No" going anywhere in the Mid-Term, except down. By the end of the week, R's in congress will start coming up with ideas. Those ideas will suck, but they have to do something, the people are seeing nothing but obstruction and childish antics from the right. Vpters may be fickle, but all things considered, they are not overtly stupid, they see some progress under D control, that means a lot in the scvheme of things.

To be sure, I'm not happy with all that has happened and not happened, but progress is progress, people want something done, they don't see the R's as capable of doing anything other than acting like the "spoiler' wherever they touch down.

The reality is though, D's need to get out and vote, sitting it out will not oust the miscreants, everything hinges on the voters doing what they have to do. It looks to me like the R's are willing to sit out an election, we can move ahead dramatically if we seize the moment.

The pundits have it all wrong...there will be no "wave" of R victories, PO is not going down. If those D's that are in Congress today move forward. with a spine and conviction...the GOP is history.

1. And they are missing this point about KY
MORE Democrats did show up to vote. And the republicans stayed home in a republican state that's how Paul won. How are they explaining that. Even if it was a primary, MORE Democrats showed up to vote in a republican held state that tells you that they are more concerned about not letting republicans back in, in November.

4. Precisely...
That is overlooked. Paul "won" w/a very small percentage of what the R's could have done. Essentially, that says that R's are disgusted w/their own party.

The other thing is that for a Primary, the numbers are strikingly high all across the board, but particularly where D's are concerned.

Ousting Specter, (well, he is 80, and changes w/the wind), showed not just D's what people want, but that thinly veiled R's are out as well.

Teabaggers were motivated, R's were not...D's were unusually motivated, a good sign. Personally, I'm glad the pundits have spoken about an R "takeover", it put some fire under the seats of D's...and showed me there is not a whole lot of R support...:D

7. I'm not so sure...
Paul is an idiot...I listened to his "victory" speech last night, stick, meet stupid.

When one adds that he's bat-shit crazy, I think he'll go down in flames. Honest R's really can't stand the Teabaggers...:hi:

8. exactly right: registered Democrats outnumber registered Repubs in KY by a large number
Something on the order of 1.6 million registered Democrats and around 1 million and change registered repubs. These are closed primaries so its not surprising that Democratic totals exceed those of the repubs. As a percentage of registered voters, turnout was virtually identical for the two parties -- around 33 percent.

2. Just consider what their spin would have been if PA HR 12 had gone R.
This would have been 'Scott Brown Effect' in super duper extra bold big fat fonts for daze. Instead it is crickets.

The mood has changed. Hard to tell if the shift is soon enough and strong enough to keep both houses in November, but the mood and momentum are not what the kleptocracy was hoping for.

3. The media isn't predicting a Republican wave in November...
...They're actively trying to CAUSE one, with bullshit, fear, cherry-picked polls and lots of wishful spin.

Obama's analysis was spot on; no one wants to give the keys back to the shitty driver who ran us into the ditch in the first place. It makes no sense.

9. Yep.....Media affecting our politics, instead of simply reporting it
which is why I hate the media, and find them transparent and elementary.

The only thing that will save this country is if we learn how to either ignore the media,
or find a real effective media that will service the millions that are now led by the nose by the one we have.

10. "Not just tired but just plain stupid"..
 Amazing, isn't it..how otherwise smart enough people can sound so stupid when they're lying their damn heads off. I didn't hear the speedh but that's what teabaggers do.

Too bad we don't have a broadcast station to playback what the corporatemediawhores said when they were building up their candidates over the reality that's taking place.

I guess that's what Jon Stewart does when he's on but not nearly enough see it.

12. Rand Paul is the loony Right. Having someone so unstable in government - not good
Paul looks like he's off his rocker. People should call him out on that.

16. Ding Ding f'n Ding
the media has decreed there is a "very angry" electorate wanting to vote out dems. So regardless of the results, that is what they will "report".
