I don't know what's wrong with our country, but in that room I see some hope for us.

You want to complain during a memorial? You think that'd be more appropriate?

President Obama's words at the memorial service for the miners in Beckley West Virginia

beautiful words and beautiful ending to that service with the lighting of the helmet lamps. As someone who has coalminers in the family, it was incredibly moving. Not as many coalminers from my generation on and we never lost anyone in the mind but it is a frightening existence. Peace to these lost miners and their families.

miners that Obama and the Democratic administration are responsible for the mine disaster. Because they imposed too many regulations and fines. Can you believe that. And some of the miners are agreeing. I guess they are afraid if they don't Blankenship will fire them.

the fucking Wrath of God down on the people responsible for this tragedy. And everything I've seen since he took office says to me that's never going to happen. By next week it'll be back to business as usual in the coal mines of America. And as far as I'm concerned, that renders his words more insulting than stirring. I'd like nothing more than to be proven wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

Good luck when your Republican buddies get back in control. Some think the years from 2000 to 2008 were bad. I say, they ain't seen nothing yet.

as quickly or as easily as we all thought they would. There should be absolutely nothing wrong with you saying what you did. However touching and inspirational and kind and loving O's words were - we have got to turn that enormous power into action. We've got to turn it all into action in the house and senate

67. Guess you are missing the finer point. Obviously. No one, no one
no one....is saying he should have mixed politics into the eulogy. The two are mutually exclusive. He could have made the same point on the steps of city hall. The point is - he's got to take the ideas, the good ideas he spoke about so eloquently - and turn that into action in government.

And especially bless Mr. Obama for saying his words. Yes, we are all Americans and we share the pain of what happened on April the 5th.

Let me say how moved I was by the words of the state trooper who spoke early in the service. His pain was still raw as he spoke. His words, like the POTUS, were truly heartfelt.
