With the city's most famous ex-bond trader, Mayor Bloomberg, likely sitting in the front row, Obama is expected to argue that the only way to save Wall Street - and the broader U.S. economy - is to reform Wall Street.
"There are some stands that are worth fighting for," Obama said earlier this week, "and financial regulatory reform is one of those stands."

In a sign of the heat he expects to bring down on them, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said mentions of "obscene bonuses," as well as lobbyists' efforts to stall reform, shouldn't surprise anyone.

But the president's tone is expected to be more firm than fiery - hopefully leaving no doubt in the minds of Wall Street's titans that Obama is not about to retreat.
